No argument. Think i noted this in my game recap blog but went up to Providence for work that evening and had to follow first part of the game on twitter on the Acela. The hotel rooms didn't have NBC Sports and didn't want to watch in the bar surrounded by Bruins fans. So ended up watching the game on the NBC Sports app from my ipad on a slight delay while also following on twitter. I let out a huge cheer from my room when they won.

I went nuts for a few minutes after the goal and had no idea who scored it for a a little while

Remember this: ANA trades 41 + Emerson Etem to NYR for Carl Hagelin, 59, 179.
Pick #41 was Gropp

You do realize Torts was toxic and the Rangers did better without him as well as the Canucks. Seems he's working his magic on Johansson now. Maybe the Rangers will get creative and be able to acquire him. Girardi, Nash and Staal remind me of the Maple Leafs under John Ferguson Jr. bunch of players overpaid with no trade contracts. You think Lundqvist is overpaid but had no problem giving Stephan, Girardi and Stall their contracts? You do watch the games right? The biggest reason the Rangers had the success they have enjoyed these past five seasons is Lundqvist. If Nash would have performed to his contract in playoffs they would have been more. If Rangers still had Dubinsky and Callahan the team would just have two more over paid players. They were nice players that wanted to be treated like stars. Time to get young and hungry.

The only reason I feel Lundqvist is overpaid was that he gave the team no hometown discount. He likely would have gotten just under $8 million in free agency and maybe gotten $8.5 mil per, but he also knew the team's cap situation and the endorsements he gets in NY and could have easily taken $7.5 rather $8.5 mil per. That salary would still have made him the highest paid goalie.

My point on Dubi and Cally was their willingness to go through a wall and leadership skills. No necessarily their play on the ice and quite well understand why they were dealt.

Did Staal or Giradi give any hometown discounts? I might have traded him prior. I'm not a big fan of paying players for past performance especially in cap league. In a few years we are all going to be miserable with Staal, Girardi and Henrik's contracts. As of now though Lundqvist only one who earns his IMO.
