Hi Jan
We have problems in Vancouver too. We're trying to get younger and remain competitive at the same time.
I hear you're not happy with some of your RFAs. Pretend for a moment you've been summoned to GM the blueshirt because they really wanna shake things up. Perhaps some players who have gone to a cup final with AV before could really get you over the hump? Do any of our players interest you, what deals would you make with Vancouver? - Max.Betts
Vrbata or Horvat are nice pieces. |

no offense Jan but you sound like the Blogger who start to get close to the edge ready to jump at a moments notice....
1st serious level or breach of the system since A V
systematically call on the carpet all parts in question of the A game or" bringin it"
I M O i see a top cup contender w/depth to work with ....
gonna find our game again & start a roll into the March..
NO then we will be proactive in trading assets for the compliment piece needed
NEED: top 3-6 winger to pick up MSL's goals ....
Trade from either K Y or Klein + Fast or LInberg + darft pick or prospect...
should procure a top eichelon scorer 2way type ... may be a top center (Staal)
navigating thru the marathon of a season ..well it s 1/2 the battle , the other 1/2 is the 2 month P O tourney ..
all teams suffering w/ mid season holiday woes.... Caps took big hit with
Beagle done w/surgery,Backstrom iffy Carlson out....
washingtons turn in the proverbial barrel..lets see if / when they flat line ?
in retrospect ...if we had to go flat ... better now & find the character to catapult this group into the honed fightin machine it has & can be ...
dont give up the ship Jan & start tie "rebuild as u coined it "
this aint fantasy poop , we will come out shining from this ..let the players respond to A Vs challenge & move the needle accordingly....
L G R great boounce ,in T B 4th line had sum jump Krieds looked silly on 3rd line but played better .... L G R keep the build of momentum into 2016.....L G R

Good job, my friend. Very level headed. I hope you are right.
I do, however, think that Jan's current analysis of the teams play was spot-on. |

Trade Nash? Aside from his bloated contract, considering what we might get back plus the fact that we would have to eat some of his contract, Im not totally sure if it would be worth it.
Yandle is gone after this year regardless whether we trade him or not.
Trade Moore? I wouldnt, hes an excellent bottom 6 guy.
I would trade Kreider. Hes not going to turn into the guy that everyone here is dreaming about. Hes not the guy, and he never will be. Trade him while hes still got some value. |

I said if play continued as it did, then they would have to think about blowing it up. "I am not about to start the trade speculation hype though I know it's begun. Deal Nash. Deal Yandle and Moore, though this one seems surly likely to occur, especially if things goes further south. Sign Stamkos, because having a $9-10 mil player who also doesn't always show up nightly makes a ton of sense (sarcasm dripping). "
All the above was speculation if things continued to go south, not to say trades were imminent. South meaning for a continued extended period of time. I still stand by everything I wrote, as all the issues I mentioned have been prevalent for a while. That doesn't mean they aren't correctable, but we hadn't much progress there.
Maybe the last two out of the three games played are a sign of good things to come in 2016. My job is not to sugarcoat of just have my Rangers fandom glasses on. It's to call out bad play and issues that aren't being fixed. Similarly, if they are playing well, iI will report that and am much happier to do so and write about that.
Dundee, I agree with all you wrote and don't expect a tear down. I was writing one could occur if things continue to go poorly. If their play against Anaheim and YB continues, then they will be aggressive as usual to make acquisitions in the trade market. |

So the Rangers decided to play defense and looked what happened? Not saying this is the top team in the league but they are contenders. Just need to keep fighting out of this funk |

I think dundee is correct in that we need to see how this plays out for a bit more. Basically said the same thing the other day. I would give them till the end of January.
Also think you are right Jan, people forget you do recaps of the games and you are writing about how bad/good they played in the previous game.
I'm glad you are not some homer blogger who thinks the Rangers can do no wrong and everything is rainbows & puppies.

I have bashed him pretty good but last night was probably one of Yandle's best games as a Ranger.
Trade value just jumped a bit |

Agreed, thought I had put it in the blog, but I felt that if by the end of January, it hadn't turned back positively, then a change could occur. |

I think they'll offer him a 10% raise as a qualifier and then he is probably going to go to arbitration |

The Lightning were told to pick two or three from a wish list that featured Michael Del Zotto, Evgeny Grachev, Ryan Callahan, Brandon Dubinsky and Dan Girardi. |
