"Point, who won gold with Canada at the 2015 tournament, has served as captain of the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors for the previous two seasons".

Hicketts, Captain U17 pacific, one year Alternate and two year Captain of the Victoria Royals.

Crouse, Alternate Captain of Kingston.

Virtanen, never possessed a letter at any level...

- Whiskey-Tango

So having a letter in Junior or years previous gives you a 1 up on receiving a letter? Either way, it's not the end of the world and I am sure Virtanen is not going to lose sleep on it. I am just dissapointed in the fact that Lazar was loaned from Ottawa, had a mediocre tournament behind 4 or 5 players who led Canada, and was basically handed the C in the same situation Virtanen was.

Virtanen fleeced on the Captaincy. Given to Point. A's to Hicketts and Crouse.

I am happy he didn't get the letter. Getting the A requires a certain level of responsibility and we don't want Virtanen to play timid. He needs to play his game and crash and bang. Not be afraid of taking a penalty, or driving to the net. Be selfish and bruising. In NHL he was given too much structure. A lot of responsibility of playing defense. And with WD 1 mistake and you are stapled to the bench approach had Virt gripping the stick a little tighter. It is no surprise that JV's best games were preseason and early in the season. Preseason WD was not there. He had a surgery and was not behind the bench and early in the season he was still playing his style till WD got his grip on him.
I will not be surprised if JV is named to the all tournament team. What will really put piss in my coffee is if Forsling has another great tourney.

I would assume so. Some people are natural leaders while others are not.
It's a quality that those three have already demonstrated.

Virt has not. Pretty reasonable.

Drop down one round of draft picking for each of those players. Prust has more value than higgins right now for the position he plays. I think you over-value our players.

I did not read it thoroughly. Not only do I believe most of players need to drop down a round, but most need to drop down 2 rounds regarding trades for those respective picks. I also think you need to get rid of the "AND" because none of our players worth more than 1 draft pick. If anything, it will be one draft pick and retention of salary OR a player of crappy salary cap back lol

Nobody is giving more then a 2nd conditional first for him. UFA next year, production drop off and know to disappear in playoffs
- Burrows- 3rd becomes cond. 2nd or 1st
Hahaha. At most we will get is a 3rd and we will have to retain salary. What are his best assets? PK? High energy? He cant score. Has 4.5 cap and at best is a 3rd line energy guy that makes 4.5. There are no penalties in playoffs. So no need for PK experts.
- Hammer- 1st and cond. 2nd
If this was last year. He has regressed. Coming off an injury, and is a UFA. Best is 2nd that is conditional 1st
- Higgins - 4th becomes cond. 3rd
4th is all we will get.
- Prust - 5th becomes cond 4th
I agree with this
- Weber - 2nd and cond 2nd
Hahaha. This is the most hilarious one. You do realize that he has been a healthy scratch a few times this season. Is a UFA and suck in defending. Any team making a run will look for more Hammer type then weber type.

Gone in the summer
-Edler - 1st, prospect and conditional 1st
Sure, maybe 3 season ago. Now 1st is all we will get.
-Tanev - 1st, prospect and conditional 1st
I don't even want ot comment on this one
-Hansen - 2nd becomes conditional 1st
Wow that is like saying Raymond is worth the same as Yakupov
-Sbisa - 2nd
maybe for a desperate GM
-Dorsett - 3rd
I see this happening
-Cracknell - UFA
-Bartkowski - UFA
-Hutton - 1st and prospect
Maybe at next year TDL if his play continues at the same level and he keeps improving at both ends of the ice.
-Miller - 3rd and prospect and conditional 2nd (conf final)/ 1st (cup final)
Ummm. Don't even know what to say here. The guy is competitive but he cant carry the load anymore. Is 6m in cap hit. Is a pending UFA. All stats for him has steadily declined over the last few years. Is known to throw his own players under the bus...should I keep going?

Could care less about years past . He has made well over 15 mil playing hockey, the team owes him nothing

My reason for moving him is different than yours

It is just time to say bye . Five goals and six assists to me is way to little production for a second liner being paid 4.5.

I am not sure Hamhuis will be traded at TDL. His injury and recovery time might clash, and he has the NTC

Vrbata should go.

Burrows should go , but if not then , then at the draft.

Higgins should go on waivers on the 27

After that I don't know how much movement you will see

I can see Benning getting rid of Burr. Benning is all about character and integrity. He got rid of Seguin for fak sakes due to his lifestyle. We wont like the return and we will retain salary but Burr is good as gone by TDL. I can see Higgins also gone. Hammer is an odd one. D is weak and without Hammer is worse. We have nothing in the farm to help out. I can see JB keeping Hammer and try trading his rights in the summer. Sedins are going nowhere this TDL. If anything JB might approach them in the summer for Draft day move. Makes most sense then. Teams will have the cap space to make things work. Cap is going up and teams will have contracts coming off. A lot easier to take on 14mil.
I can see Prust gone at TDL to recoup the 5th we gave. Kassian trade was to get rid of him and to get 5th back that we sent will be a bonus.
I don't see JV coming back this year to the team. They need him to build his confidence and he is the type of player that needs to play to gain confidence. Hard to do that with under 8mins of ice time.
Miller will most likely ask for a trade in the summer. He knows the teams window is closed and you can see in the body language that he does not want to be here. He is a fierce competitor and playing behind the molasses held together with band aid defense of Canucks will not fly for another season. The most we will gain is cap space.
That leaves Varby. I can see him moving to a team like Nashville or Caps making a run for him. We will not get a 1st for him.
I am really excited about the draft this year. Finally we will draft in every round this draft year and hopefully all the miles that JB has been putting will come to bear fruits.
Looking at Boeser pick I think JB knows his stuff.

- Linden_4_Capt

Fairly accurate with the exception of Prust. He aint going anywhere. Brought in to compliment Dorsett and if Dorsett goes down with injury we have no one to step in. Prust stays. McCann Bo Virt Hutton Sedins Hansen should be the ONLY untouchables going into TDL. All else is fair game.

So hard to make trades to day where both teams benefit. The Hammer injury did not help us and it will hinder his TDL value as teams will deem him as another injury risk.

Agreed on Vrbata Higgins and Burrows. All need to be in new uniforms at TDL.

Higgins might not make the Comets for poop sakes...
