It's pretty (frank)in awesome, and watching your children become parents is rewarding...I'm not such the "SOB" they thought...it"s payback time... - Makita
My boys are 8 and 5. I'll be 60ish when they start to breed (crossing fingers). The idea of it freaks me out a bit. My 8 year old is such a bonehead I'm not sure he'll ever figure it out. |

I think he was scooped up by the actual T.B media team.

Up until this year, he was pretty much Olympian material - and he scored a couple huge goals in Sochi |

Friends call me hilly, another friend says deluxe a bit too much. I think there is actually a kid rock song of the same name too.... I wish it was original, at least it doesn't have a 99 or 01 after it. |

Up until last year.
He did nothing at the olympics, absolutely nothing. Crosby didn't either, so it went hand in hand. |

Burrows needs to be on the Sedin line in the new year to get his game going for a trade. Hansen has cooled off there so get him back to third line where he should be.

Outside merely being on the team last year, what in your view qualifies him as captain material?

Right now yes.
I think JV could use some time in Jr. he is still very young
Burrows is being paid 4.5 mil and that is way too much for a PK guy. His time is coming to an end - VANTEL
he's being paid for past performance... recall he took a hit on his last deal. |

Better yet, tell me why the other three are MORE deserving of a letter? I know it is not about draft position, nor is it about NHL experience, nor about point production in years past in the tournament. So what is it? I am actually not that upset about Point, as the kid is a beast and is going to wreck havoc in this tournament. I am just wondering why the other two were chosen. |

He is being paid 4.5 mill strictly because of the sedins. Perhaps a bit of that is because of his stellar PK partner in Kesler. Burrows without them, in those particular roles, is no more than a 2.5 million dollar player. |

" Point, who won gold with Canada at the 2015 tournament, has served as captain of the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors for the previous two seasons".
Hicketts, Captain U17 pacific, one year Alternate and two year Captain of the Victoria Royals.
Crouse, Alternate Captain of Kingston.
Virtanen, never possessed a letter at any level... |

I can see Benning getting rid of Burr. Benning is all about character and integrity. He got rid of Seguin for fak sakes due to his lifestyle. We wont like the return and we will retain salary but Burr is good as gone by TDL. I can see Higgins also gone. Hammer is an odd one. D is weak and without Hammer is worse. We have nothing in the farm to help out. I can see JB keeping Hammer and try trading his rights in the summer. Sedins are going nowhere this TDL. If anything JB might approach them in the summer for Draft day move. Makes most sense then. Teams will have the cap space to make things work. Cap is going up and teams will have contracts coming off. A lot easier to take on 14mil.
I can see Prust gone at TDL to recoup the 5th we gave. Kassian trade was to get rid of him and to get 5th back that we sent will be a bonus.
I don't see JV coming back this year to the team. They need him to build his confidence and he is the type of player that needs to play to gain confidence. Hard to do that with under 8mins of ice time.
Miller will most likely ask for a trade in the summer. He knows the teams window is closed and you can see in the body language that he does not want to be here. He is a fierce competitor and playing behind the molasses held together with band aid defense of Canucks will not fly for another season. The most we will gain is cap space.
That leaves Varby. I can see him moving to a team like Nashville or Caps making a run for him. We will not get a 1st for him.
I am really excited about the draft this year. Finally we will draft in every round this draft year and hopefully all the miles that JB has been putting will come to bear fruits.
Looking at Boeser pick I think JB knows his stuff. |
