I know you guys love to talk about trading the sedins but im sorry its just not happening. Theres no team that the sedins would accept a trade to that has 14 million in cap space simple as that.

I don't think the Canucks would ever trade them, but if it was to happen, it would be at the tdl of the final year of their contract and the Canucks are going to miss the playoffs. Canucks eat a big portion of their contract for the remainder of the season.

but still don't see this happening. and I'm okay with that... much of the city treated them like sh!t when they were young and they hung in there to become elite players and stats leaders/record holders for so many categories. They have given as much or more than anyone to the team.

still wonder what a team would offer though

The Nashville Preds are an excellent team with the best D and goaltending in the league. They also have 10 mil in space and a shot at the cup. They could also afford to move assets.

It probably will never happen but to say no one could acomodate them is wrong

The Ducks are another team if they wanted could do a deal

I don't know, ask Bob. I just found it interesting that as of today the Canucks are mathematically heading to a last place finish giving them the best odds at winning the lottery.

So this is what it's like being an Oilers fan .

They could but why would they? Better to trade one of their D for an Oiler forward or Johnason - guys who aren't old, expensive and come as a pair.

I would love to see the twins on the 2nd or 3rd line in couple of years and be counted on for secondary scoring instead of being responsible for all the scoring.

+1. While there is no denying their talent, there is also no denying their age. Oilers have a ton of young talented scoring forwards who are more than capable of filling the offensive void that the predators lack, but can be an asset for the next 5+ years.

If I was Nashville, I would hold on to Jones, Josi and Weber and make a mid range move or two to help up front. Burrows and Vrbata would be great for depth, experience and help with the PP and PK.

Because Eberle RNH and RJ are not in the top 10 in scoring and have very little playoff experience

This is this guy's method for predicting these results.

If you scroll all the way down you can see what the results of his method has been, doesn't look like it has been that successful.

I will wade in here on this one...
The short answer is because they would load up with talent and be able to take a deep run.

Just to take Vantel's example.
Sedins for 2016/2017 1st rd picks, Fiala and Seth Jones (and Gaustad for salary).
Canucks retain salary to make it work.

Forsberg Sedin Sedin
Wilson Ribero Neal
ARvedson Fisher Smith
Nystrom Sissons Hodgson

Josi Weber
Jackman Ellis
Ekholm and ?

Rinne

That is a nice, balanced lineup.

We have the worst record since Nov 6 and the Oilers, Flames etc have been some of the hottest teams in the NHL and have barely caught up to us....

I still say that things will even out a little and this team is much closer to the playoffs than the #1 overall by the end of the season.

We are getting closer to the end . My prediction was 23, your is 16 . Right now we sit almost in the middle .

Truthfully the more this year plays out I see us bottom 3

The nice thing about this league is things change in a hurry. Right now Nashville have solid D and goaltending . A lot can happen in 3 years. A team should go all in when they have the chance. Chicago did it and they won.

The twins play a strong possession game and with a legitimate scorer like Forsberg and the solid back end , they would be the team to look out for. RNH ,RJ or Eberle wouldn't even come close to being a difference maker like the twins.

Closer to the end of what?

There is less than half the season played and I think we have played something like 60% of our road games. I have a vague memory of predictions but that sounds about right.

I still put us in that 14-18 range.

I have a feeling you might like this site, my first try Vancouver won the Lottery.

I'm sorry but I just don't see Poile spending $14M for two and a half years for two 35 year olds.

We do have 2 or 3 more gp's than most of the teams under us and the spread is a point or two. I think my money would be on Buffalo or Carolina myself

10 mil . It was noted Canucks eat 2 mil per year of each of their contracts
