Tough to defend, but I also know what it's like when a guy loses it. I admittedly don't know the concussion history for the Blue Jacket guy, but Plots came in high with the check. If there is a concussion history I fully understand him losing it.

Maybe you want to rewrite it? I don't see any other way to interpret this other than saying "Hey, I can understand losing it if he maybe has a history of concussions". I'd say this was technically worse than what Dubinsky did to Crosby. Crosby happened to get banged up after a cross check to the back of the neck, but this was several cross checks to the neck area and then a few after Plotnikov lost his footing and was on the ice. As a lot of us here keep saying, it's the process that needs to be punished, not the result

I don't see the need to compare and contrast them. These are pretty black and white scenarios here. Both are against the rule book, both could lead to injuries, both should be punished.
