Neither of us knows the precise extent of Wang's meddling. If Wang insisted on drafting someone in the 6th round, it is certainly possible that he makes his feelings known on the coaching staff. Look at how long he overpaid Yashin. Rumor had it that he enjoyed playing golf with Alexei.

They must have been thinking about making another stellar pick outside the first round that year like Jesse Joensuu, Robin Figren, Rhett Rakhshani, Jase Weslosky, Tomas Marcinko, Doug Rogers, Shane Sims, Kim Johansson, Brian Day, Stefan Ridderwall, and Troy Mattila.


Nolan actually looks kind of smart by comparison! They did get KO in the first round at least.

Probably nothing they didn't already know - Wang is nuts. Still, it's only a 6th round pick.

I'm more amazed that Crappy fell in love with him. I'm even more amazed that were able to scam the Flyers. I think paying that guy what they did after watching the game film is way more embarrassing than drafting him in the 6th round because of a screwball owner.
