Wow I love Bill Burr but I didn't think he was "sell-out-the-Garden" big.

I just had to ask because there's been about 2 or 3 occasions recently that my GF has mentioned some band/singer/comedian/etc... was "playing at the Garden" which then immediately turned out to be the theater.

I wish I could remember who it was but it was people who were so not-MSG-worthy and she got all pissy when I told her there was no chance that she was right.

"At that time, he was a plucky long-shot to make the NHL who was only drafted because of the eccentricities of Islanders owner Charles Wang. At the 2006 draft, Wang stormed his team's draft table and demanded that newly hired head coach Ted Nolan make the team's sixth-round pick, much to the dismay of Islanders scouts."

And that's how AMAC was drafted by the Isles Facking Wang! Can't wait until he is out of the picture

He's a (frank)ing genius.

He knew Homer would trade for MacDonald and then sign him to a hilariously awful contract, thus somewhat crippling a division rival.

This supports my long-held theory that Wang meddles in hockey matters more than meets the eye. Where was that quote from?

I don't think anybody would dispute that he was a meddler at least if you followed the team closely like we do. It was from an ESPN article

How goes it fellas? Sorry I haven't been around in a while to offer any consultations, but those God damned Sabres fans have taken up a lot my dedicated HB time , I'm sure you can understand why.
Also, Oilers fans remain among the most in need of an education , along with the Flames faithful.

Anyway, hop you all have a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanakah or Festivus or whatever.

And a Happy Festivus to you, too. I hope Anders Nilsson continues to stand on his head for you....

Agreed. My point is simply that any GM working for the Isles has had to deal with Wang screwing things up along with all the other headaches of being a GM.

I think Cappy looks at Strait and thinks he's looking in the mirror. Strait reminds him of himself.......a big, dumb New England d-man with, at best, moderate talent........each having only a modest NHL career.

When Strait is on the ice, I tend to hold my breath any time the puck is in the defensive zone. So mentally I probably set the bar low for him to have an ok game. Any game Strait plays where he doesn't have a giveaway leading to the game-losing goal is an ok game by Strait standards.

But now watch Strait dress for the next game, Cappy being the superstitious guy that he is....

- JohnScammo

Lets just hope that Snow doesn't have the same unnatural feelings. Strait being a UFA and all.

All I want for Festivus is a Ranger regulation loss tonight, so the Isles go into the break in 2nd place in the division.
