Strait (frank)ing sucks. Theres nothing that says hes a good defenseman besides this (frank)ing moron. He doesnt pass the eye test or any statistical anything that says anything besides he (frank)ing blows and makes everyone around him worse. Last night he did his usual blindly pass up the boards routine (when he had all the time and space that any player could ask for) that ended up on the oppositions stick every time. Guy panics eveey time he has the puck.
Id say DeHaan was probably the best defender on the ice last night to blow smoke up Strait's arse is laughable. DeHaan calmly and effortlessly made some great defensive plays in our zone that prevented the puck from ending up in our net. Win or not I cant wait till both Strait and Capuano are gone. That'll be a clear sign the moron regime is over. - Cptmjl
I think Cappy looks at Strait and thinks he's looking in the mirror. Strait reminds him of himself.......a big, dumb New England d-man with, at best, moderate talent........each having only a modest NHL career.
When Strait is on the ice, I tend to hold my breath any time the puck is in the defensive zone. So mentally I probably set the bar low for him to have an ok game. Any game Strait plays where he doesn't have a giveaway leading to the game-losing goal is an ok game by Strait standards.
But now watch Strait dress for the next game, Cappy being the superstitious guy that he is.... |

I'll take where the isles are in the standings given the struggles of jt, strome, Lee and leddy. The pk has been solid, goaltending has been excellent and jt is going to get going in the second half. Merry Christmas, may take a few days off the site and just enjoy that we're in a good place. |

If clutterbuck knew how to cycle and pass he'd be an amazing hockey player. |

Yep thats a good way of looking at it. Start scoring some goals and we're good. Lee, strome, tavares, etc start producing were in a real good spot. It'll happen its just a matter of when... |

Hes already an amazing player. Maybe not in the sense that tavares is but an amazing player in his own right. One of our best PK'ers that scores timely goals and is amongst the league leaders in hits is nothing to shake your stick at. No matter how some fans like to diminish a player like Clutterbucks value it doesnt detract how important he is and how hard a player like him is to find. If we lost him and Martin and you tried to replace them I think you'd finally realize just how valuable they really are.
We're not talking about Colton Orr here. |

Agree, he gives 100% game in and game out and is part of our most consistent line game in and game out. Cal and his line mates are a huge part of this team. Matty stepping up for Leddy last night dropping them with Manson I thought got the Isles going last night. |

He's busting my balls. He knows I really like Martin, but dislike Clutterbuck to put it nicely.
