Nashville have 10 mil in cap space . They need scoring. Two top 15 guys in the Twins. They become cup contenders immediately
- VANTEL

I agree with them as a good target, I was just thinking about what your expected return would be and I dont think the Canucks have room for that many contracts to come back. Thats just a wrinkle I was thinking of, not saying its a bad idea to trade them or anything just that a deal of that magnitude would have some additional complications compared to your normal "star for futures" type trade

I'd settle for Josi and Jones and they can keep the picks.

would be a good fit, Jones and a bad expiring contract and thier first rounder. They need a licking the lips emoticon
- neem55

This is the deal I would go after

Sedins and Canucks keep salary this year only 1.5 each

This year's first
Next year's first
Jones
Gustad ( salary dump 3.25)
Fiala
Granberg

that will never happen, so lets think possible. Jones and an big contract they don't like (I have no idea who that is) Maybe Wilson?

I think they would retain 1 mil on each for the rest of the term... NAshvilles has RFA mouths to feed.

edit: A;so I don't see them giving up Granburg in addition to Jones, Gustad makkes sense.

For one Sedin sure, think of it as trading two top ten scorers. You're way underselling yourself.

It would define Bennings legacy. He would be the guy that traded the Sedins.

It would speed the rebuild up by four years.

The canucks and fans have to realize this team is going nowhere for years and years as is. You can get a great haul in return this year

It just goes back to the team's mentality over the years, the sentimental/fan favourites players will crush the future leaving it in mediocrity. Hell, even trading Linden set the team up for the last Stanley Cup run. Hard to see him go at the time, but it happened and we had WCE for several years which turned into Luongo. The team holds onto players for far too long (and yes I love the twins, and really dont want them traded, but I could forget pretty quickly with a massive haul coming back)

Jones .

I think Nashville will have a no fly zone over Josi. I think they covet him more than Weber.

It would take brass balls the size of cannon balls but I would be ok with everything.

Then target Kopitar with Sedins Cap space

I think it is the massive haul that I doubt the most.

I'm not denying the Sedin's talent but I just don't think we see a big enough return to justify moving them.

If NSH is offering Ellis, Wilson and a 1st, I think I would rather watch them finish as Canucks.
