I think Schenn would be more than marginal. At worst I think he would be a bottom pairing with grit. At max he would be second pairing.

What I like about him is he can do a little of everything. Our toughest Dman right now is Sbisa. LS would be an upgrade there. He has a better shot than Weber. Weber is a better skater.

With Subban it is all about the size. He would need to be excellent to crack the line up, not just good

- VANTEL

No point in trading Subban for a guy who might only be here for a couple months, although Benning would probably resign Schenn for 4 years before he played a game.

Subban has been struggling in Utica to start the season, although he is putting up okay points. Give him a couple of years to learn the pro game, it would be a bad move IMO to sell low now.

Schenn isn't a very good Dman but likely could help us, as long as you don't give up any picks, youth or players who could fetch picks I would do it.

It would be interesting to see if Schenn could succeed here. He was kind of jobbed a bit by the poor MNGT/coaching in TO and has shown a few signs of rebounding in PHI...could be an interesting case. Maybe another Sbisa type situation...

I think you are looking at a tougher Sbisa . Trying him out for the rest of the year would be great idea

I'll leave that up to JB because posters here won't like it no matter what the cost is

Not that I'm saying PHI would take our floorscraps but Jensen and Weber would do much better in the East. They aren't going to succeed in the west that much is clear.

If we moved Sbisa, I'd be okay with LSchenn. You had mentioned JordieB before, and I'd prefer him over Schenn. But I guess it all comes down to who is really available or not.

I do like Sbisa's skating, just wish he was better with the puck and decision making.

It was interesting last night watching Weber, he was trying to rush the puck and push the play, but he missed passing options and it was as though the other 4 Canucks on the ice didn't know what he was going to do or where they should be. Then the play just died and went the other way. He was skating pretty well with the puck but nothing became of it.

It was like Weber was committed to the rush and that was it. In contrast, you see Hutton with the puck and he looks like he is in trouble and then goes the other way to get out of trouble. Weber just keeps going and the play dies.

Saying that about Weber, I have seen the same at times from Bartkowski and Sbisa.

You guys are starting to sound like Leaf fans. Over-valuing our sh!t players to trade to other sh!tty teams for often scratched, useless players.
Jensen and Weber would get the Canucks SFA. Worse than Ballard, Raymond and a pick.

It's all speculation. I think JB will make a move this week. Who and what are up to him.

The difference is Leafs actually do move their sh1t

Philly fan base will want Bo Horvad and a first.
Nucks fan base will offer Jensen and Stewart.
Realistically whatever is offered will be an overpayment in our opinion and an underpayment in the Flyers fans opinion.
Personally I would prefer Schenn but it is cost us more then Weber and a B prospect it is an overpayment. He is a 6-7 D on a bad flyers team on an expiring contract and he is not for todays NHL. Does not have speed. But having him will allow us to use our rookies more and not feel like they will get manhandled by the Keslers and the Getzalfs and no one will be saying anything.

Weber is an anomaly but the experiment is over IMO. With Bartkowski and Sbisa we get a bit of puck moving but some size and toughness...Weber has always been a great skater/shot but is kind of like Russ Courtnall out there...skates like the wind but accomplishes absolutely nothing.

Plus he is touring the press box all the time now so it is massively tough for him to get involved in team chemistry on the ice...they really do have no clue where he is going when Weber is on the ice...

That being said, I also noticed Weber get checked by the ice a few times.

Wally Buono told his players "It is my job to find your replacement"

Jim Benning should be sending that same message to 80% of this current roster

Anyone not named Sedin or a rookie for sure should be hearing that message. i should also include Edler and Tanev, they have both been pretty good.

Maybe the problem is JB not doing his job too? Injuries haven't helped either. Imagine if Sutter wasn't injured but Henrik was? How much worse off would we be?

I doubt he's coming anyways. So tough to make trades nowadays where both clubs get what they need and leave happy.
