Penguins can totally outscore teams. The forward group is more talented than at any point since the early 90's. The defense just needs to spend less time playing passive defense and more time pressing with their offensive ability. All the D except for Scuds and Cole have the ability to carry the puck through traffic.

This fix will be quick and scary for the rest of the NHL. Kind of like when Todd Haley stopped trying to run the ball 50 times a game and got back to keeping the ball in the hands of his quarterback.

2 years, 6 mil. He's playing with Malkin and Kessel in a contract year and he's not exactly lighting it up. I like parts of his game, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to sign him unless it's a team friendly deal.

It'll depend on how things go obviously, but at this rate, Perron is gonna get a one year prove it deal. UFA market is a lot stronger this coming year. And GMs are getting more restricted with their money. I think Perron is gonna need a major improvement to get a long term deal.

I was also the ONLY one calling for a coaching change last December. We waited too long for last year but I like what we have now. I couldn't watch the trainwreck after January, happy to have a proper team to watch again....and damn happy that I can talk about a respectable team again.

Reading through the comments there are even comments about winning now not worried about playoff success????? WOW!

Time will tell but everything looked extremely tense & I was thinking last night MJ is the same in every interview I've seen - which is crazy! Even the Sutters of the interview world change a little & say different things, critical when need be & positive when appropriate. MJ always the same tune. If it was like that in the room then I know why we had a lot of slow starts - the team was just waking up after being put to sleep by the pregame coaches speech.

Hopefully a trend of new coach new energy new ideas get the team consistent!
