I do think this is the last move of the Crosby, Malkin era. Any more "major" changes will require breaking up the core. I love the fact Sullivan is a guy that understands the talent on the team and wants them to play to their strengths.
The defense is horrible, I'm not sure how you can compete with this group. If anything, Sullivan seems to have the stones to get Letang off his ass and playing like a $7 mill defenseman. Maata is coming around nicely, Dumo is probably better than most expected and Lovejoy is fine in a 5/6 role. Scuds and Cole are complete disasters this year.
If DP can continue to shine in Wilkes Barre, and gets the call a legit 2-4 dman is still needed to fix that mess.
Anyways, glad coach clueless got the axe (I'm sure he is a wonderful person), his lack of confidence echoed throughout the Penguins last 90 games. Still time to salvage this season and ramp up for a run (hopefully).
Still think Sullivan should pick his assistants, I'm not getting the fascination of Tocchet or Martin, let the guy pick who he is comfortable working with.

Agree with most of this. I think there will be another move. I think they can move kuni perron or horn for some assets or picks. Out of the 3 I'd keep horn. Brings more to the table, but him on 3rd line seems out of place.
As for D, they keep talking about top 4 but isn't that what DP is supposed to be? We have a small sample of preseason games. What we saw last yr and what he is doing in wbs shows he can be top 4. I would like to see
Maatta letang
Dumo DP
Cole wars/cleds/lovejoy
I like what I see in wars
As for HCMS, I like what I have been reading by everyone reporting. Seems like he is straight forward no bs kinda of coach
