Hmmm ... "I am not a fan of Crosby. As a matter of fact I do not even respect the guy for the way he acts out of the ice. I am a 110% die hard Avs fan, and I read a rumor from the Denver Post on Friday afternoon. The rumor was the Avalanche were in talks with the Penguins. Here is what I read. Gabriel Landenskog, Mikko Rantanen, Seymon Varlamov, 2016 1st Round Draft Pick, 2017 1st Round Draft Pick to Pittsburgh for Sidney Crosby, Marc Andre Fleury, and David Warsofsky"
I am just going to go ahead and delete this one. - chimpira

Name the ones available then. - jfkst1
I don't care about size, more the players willingness to do battle. Downie should have been offered a contract, Farnham should still be here and in the lineup. So take ploty out of the lineup and send Sprong back to juniors. (Sprongs not gonna be what you people think...sorry). So there's 2 easy ones that wouldn't have involved a trade. |

I thought it came from a Dreger or his type, which wouldn't even surprise me if something like that came up. I love how the team is built and hope for the best, but management has sucked the careers out of the main guys. Hopefully they reinvest and we get another back-to-back. |

Downie could play but he took too many penalties to be of much use. Farnham sucks. He sucks at playing and he sucks at fighting. You could go out on the ice and beat his brains in. IDK what Sprong is gonna be, but while you're at it, email me the next lotto jackpot numbers. |

Farnham is garbage. Downie takes too many bone head penalties ala James Neal. So no. Those 2 are not legit options. |

I think there enough of the sh!t sandwich for everybody to take a bite....Owners, past coaches and GM's. However, Robb Rossi is a complete joke. Absolutely nobody in Pittsburgh takes him seriously. - madmike71
I will say it makes no sense to keep Tocchet around. No clue if him and Mario are buddies or not, but if thats a true link than its still the country club atmosphere. And yeah Rossi sucks, but theres a ton of blame to go around for what has happened the past 5-6 years. |

Him and Mario are buddies. So yes, it kind of smells. I will say however, that Tochett hasn't been handling the PP for quite some time according to DK. MJ took that over last year.
Absolutely the management of the team has been mangled. I've said for a long time the team hasn't been the same since Ken Sawyer left. |

It's definitely a County Club style of an organization and has been like that for quite some time. I am kind of hoping the sale happens and the new ownership cares more about winning and establishing a dynasty. |

Unless I've missed something, I haven't heard anything rumor related to the sale. Not even of some sort of remote interest from a perspective buyer. I think the sale if it does happen is going to be a long drawn out ordeal. |

I have not heard anything about a potential buyer either. I meant I am just ready for the next chapter. Hope it happens sooner than later. But, I think I agree with you that it will be a long ordeal.

Isn't Sullivan known for being quite a disciplinarian? Bergeron seems to like him a lot.

They F'd up when they pushed out Sawyer and brought in that fool Morehouse. He has no business being in professional sports. They've been tripping over themselves ever since.
Look, Mario and Burkle hire people to run their business. They are "hands off" owners. It's obvious those people haven't done very well. This is where their part of the blame falls. Shero consistently trading away futures because he can't draft. Ruth making dumb ass decisions like Despres for Lovejoy. Hiring a guy completely the wrong fit for the personnel. These things don't happen with the best teams. |

Like Hynes he runs a tight ship and has his expectations. One of those is that he commands respect but he is fair. He expects alot but he will go to war with you if you give the effort. He's a coach not an advisor or teacher. |

I mean, I guess they don't really care as long as the team is making money. And it sounds to me like the tickets (being as expensive as they are) are still being sold ... probably mostly to corporations who either give them out to their "suits" or don't use them at all.

I just hope he has the cojones to bench players when it's warranted no matter their star or veteran status.
Also, from what I've read, Scuderi was at practice today. I was hoping Sully would give him off until Valentine's Day at least.

As long as he is fair in his accountability I'll be fine. So when Scuderi and Clendening make the same mistakes, they'll be punished the same. |

Thats how I have felt. Not a real contender, but buy tickets to watch some highlight goals by star players. I do know a few season ticket holders that aren't getting what they use to on their tickets and the wait list has dropped considerably meaning a lot aren't renewing their seasons. Just the past 2 playoff years they struggled to sell out. |

I have no doubt they care. If they didn't care Bylsma and Shero would still be steering the ship. |
