While Johnston was part of the problem, Rutherford is also part.
The roster make-up is not good. There is absolutely 0 toughness on this team. The same thing that LA did Friday Washington will do the same. Beat on Sid and Geno and let them fight back.
This team needs a big physical wing and a physical defenseman.
I wish I knew what ownership saw in the old fool to hire him in the first place |

I am afraid of how the powerplay will be now though... apperantly sullivan is even worse than mj at that - martox
The PP is ranked 26th in the league. It couldn't get much worse. |

I don't get peoples infatuation for big physical guys. finding skilled AND physical guys is hard and the team can't afford to have a goon just to be physical |

I am not asking for a goon.
What is wrong with a player like Orpik?
Washington has Tom Wilson. |

Orpik is old, slow and sucks at his position.
A player like Boone Jenner is what the Pens need. |

I was not asking for Orpik to come back, just using him as an example. Pens have no one on roster along those lines.
Jenner would be great to addition.

Got it, If Im an opposing coach, my game plan would be to run Crosby, Letang, and Malkin. Shut them down and its a pretty easy game plan. |

the players sent Sprong out to center ice to lead them in stretches after practice...wonder if there is any hidden meaning there. |

Rossi blaming ownership for the mess.
http://sports.yahoo.com/b...uins--mess-150924359.html - sammy87
I think there enough of the sh!t sandwich for everybody to take a bite....Owners, past coaches and GM's. However, Robb Rossi is a complete joke. Absolutely nobody in Pittsburgh takes him seriously.

He's clearly better at selling ice cream than he is writing columns for the Trib. |

Capitals have been better without Orpik in the lineup. |

That article and his opinion are jokes. I have zero factual evidence of his knowledge or legitimate insiders, but I do have a decent gut that says the dude is a fraud. It annoys me when someone earns a living like that. |

Doing some research and I wanted to figure out what type of player Mike Sullivan was and I was disappointed. His PIM totals over his career were somewhat embarrassing for a role player, esp for the time period in which he spent his nhl prime. We already have 2/3rds a team just out there to make paychecks and no one willing to sacrifice violence and blood (except apparently our stars) for the good of the team. People always point towards Hornqvists as our "character guy" but I'm sorry his unwillingness to drop the gloves once throughout his entire career says a lot about him as a person. Hes a fake.
Hopefully the coach looks back on his playing days with mournful disgust at his unwillingness to pay sacrifice for his team and his coaching reflects that, or we can just keep being the team everyone circles on the schedule as "easy game". |

Timing is everything in life. What makes GMJR's decision to fire MJ (after 1/3 of the season) even more 'interesting' is the missed opportunity w/ M. Babcock. We'll see what Sullivan can do. For now, its the same roster. Pens have the 3rd lowest Defensive payroll in the NHL. Until the back-end is upgraded, I personally don't expect a winning percentage much greater than what it is currently. Finger pointing --> GMJR. |

Hmmm ... "I am not a fan of Crosby. As a matter of fact I do not even respect the guy for the way he acts out of the ice. I am a 110% die hard Avs fan, and I read a rumor from the Denver Post on Friday afternoon. The rumor was the Avalanche were in talks with the Penguins. Here is what I read. Gabriel Landenskog, Mikko Rantanen, Seymon Varlamov, 2016 1st Round Draft Pick, 2017 1st Round Draft Pick to Pittsburgh for Sidney Crosby, Marc Andre Fleury, and David Warsofsky"
I am just going to go ahead and delete this one. |

Okposo isn't available to the Pens. Richards is undersized like you said, burnt out, and worse than anyone who the Pens currently have in the bottom 6. |
