Really? I thought he and Bart were easily the weak link last night, lots of giveaways by both. Biega I liked though, he's no softy on the boards! - neem55
Hutton will improve when he gets back to game shape but you are right him and Bart looked shaky last night. A little concerned on bart but not so much on Hutton.
Biega has been impressive. I am so hoping the Weber experiment is over and we can slot in Biega full time at 5-6 D. |

I was getting tired of Weber losing puck battles 4 out of 5 times he was in one. |

Exactly. And for what we are getting out of Hamhuis right now we can get out of Biega for 1/5 the cost. Plus Biegas tough. Hammers hipcheck days are over. It wouldn't pain me to see Hammer gone as well. |

Didn't watch the entire game, but Biega and Hutton had some good breakouts.
Mistakes will happen, but i like what they bring to our backend.

Perhaps I wasn't watching as intently as you, but the few times I focused on Hutton he was zigging and zagging his way out of tight spots. I've seen him screw up too, like all defensemen do at times, but he has incredible poise for a rookie and great puck skills.
Hamhuis has looked like Bieksa 2.0 this year, although he had a pretty good game last night. |

Weber can be kept for future 4 minutes per game powerplay deployment. he is good in the O-zone. I totally agree though, he has proven himself to be a liability and Biega deserves the shot he's getting. |

Ya, he hasn't quite been back up to speed since coming back, but that's understandable given his experience. Not sure what the deal is with Hammer, his stats aren't that bad but he has lost a step or something. A lot less simple mistakes by the team overall though, hopefully they compete like that and lose. As has been said on this thread many times: there is a right way to lose. |

By the way he's been performing it seems like he's been injured for 3 years now. |

yeah.
That invite to the world championships in 2012 and sochi in 2014 suggest otherwise. |

mistakes will happen with young defensemen, but Hutton will only get better with more experience. He's a good find for you guys.

I think Hutton will be Edler w/o the injury in his prime. I am good with that. |

Things looking up for Virts. Off to Utica for conditioning.
Nice to see guys getting healthy again. |

I think Utica getting 20mins a game will do wonders for him. I hope he plays 1st line with Shink. |

I agree
But why conditioning? Its not like hes not in game shape?
With the apparent fighting in the team then they win convincingly last night and hes now sent off....makes you wonder if its "attitude conditioning assigned" which should be the real headline |
