Benning couldn't bring more cowbell to save his life, but I'm loving it.

What the hell is the canucks organization even doing? Like is it a rebuild or do they think they can compete? How do you manage to lose to a rebuilding Flames team despite having home-ice?

I don't know about Linden, He's a political move but could do well. Benning knows how to scout/judge talent, so yes I think he is fairly ideal for things like drafting/building a new core.

I see the same outcome, although i was initially holding out some hope that the young guns punch above their weight and allow us to flirt with a playoff position...but i digress...the only thing not going according to plan is the piss poor play of our vets that are ufa's (Hamhuis and Vrbata, Weber) that will limit the return they will provide.
I see us near the bottom of the league by the season's end. I just hope injuries do not prevent us trading off some 'assets'. I imagine we will spend the next 7-8 months putting packages together to gain draft picks or move up the draft to select phx and edm's picks.

Teams will still pay for a Hamhuis. Getting him outta VAN will probably help his play. As for Vrbata, his value is decreasing. Plus, never been a playoff performer. If you could get a 2nd for Vrby you'd be laughing. Hammer will still land you a 1st + and maybe +. Dmen aren't easy to come by. That 1st will be 20-30 as well.

I keep coming back to Coburn to TBY last year.

1st, 3rd, Gudas.

I'd be happy with a 1st and 3rd. or 1st and prospect. Not too far removed from Olympics and a stellar World Championship.

A BIT we've been out shot 96-49 in the last 3 games. We need to double our shot totals.

If we get the 1st, you take Mathews.
With our luck, we get the 5th and have to orchestrate a trade with Edmonton to get a top pick.
But it would sure be nice to get a top 2 Dman one of these days.

These guys grow up around and in the game, deal with gM's and presidents their whole careers. I have no idea if they are qualified, but they seem to have success and know a thing or two. In other news, Jagr's mullet is making a nice comeback. I'm cheering for the cats to make the playoffs, I hear their goalie is a first ballot HOFer

Well mining gems is how to win. 1st round is not the only way but dropping down from say 8th to 15th can have benefits if JB sees his player still there n gets a bonus pick. Still need the cupboard fuller yet n D picks can go a long ways IMO.


FYI TL has business experience as he owns his fitness centres.

As for WD we have Travis Green doing a good job grooming players in Utica n knows our prospects well. He could very well be getting groomed for a promotion.
