Yeah, I know. He's looked unreal in switzerland and that's pretty good competition to be up against. |

Agreed with the Prust spear Carol.
Lame move.
I will never feel good or proud about a play like that. |

Why? Gotta take the best player available. Plus plenty of solid D can be found in later rounds... Subban, Keith, Webber, klingberg, etc etc all taken after the first round

Even the league doesn't like Marchand apparently, 5k for a deliberate spear I thought for sure Prust would get a game... not like it would make a lick of difference to our lineup and woes offensively and defensively.
Not that I'm against us sucking, but if we suck like Edmonton, expect this team to get sold and possibly moved to Seattle which the NHL wants a team there. Moving Vancouver which is less than 2 1/2 hours away to there would be a slam dunk. So people wanting 1OA picks, just be careful, this isn't Toronto/Edmonton/Calgary where the fan support is so solid that people will buy tickets just to watch hockey. |

The team has 72 goals for, that's first in the Pacific and third in the Western Conference. It isn't about scoring, it's about defending.
The players either choose to play within a structured game set out by the coaching staff or the coaching staff employs a game-plan that doesn't suit the talent level in front of him.
Our defence is terrible at defending and our forwards aren't good at defending either because they don't play a defence first game. - LeftCoaster
The shot totals in the past 3 games has been abysmal.
I don't mind losing, but getting production like that is embarrassing.
I don't think it's a coaching problem, i thinks its a personnel issue.
I have started to think that Vrbata is actually losing on purpose (insert match fixing scandal related to eastern european mafia connections). |

Said it before, I'll say it again. Shink deserves a bit of an extended look and is a guys who could get slotted in on the PP. - neem55

If we get the 1st, you take Mathews.
With our luck, we get the 5th and have to orchestrate a trade with Edmonton to get a top pick.
But it would sure be nice to get a top 2 Dman one of these days. |

Normally I would agree with a dirt move like that but Marchand deserves whatever is coming his way. Kudos to Prust for doing something that should have been done long ago by ANY Canuck. Well done Brandon. |

Sorry, I love the old swede. But he, like Jovo, Edler, Lumme or anyone else is a 2 IMO. Love the guy, but studs are few and far between and I have yet to see one in a Canucks jersey. |

You can laugh all you want but there's a reason they've given up so many third period leads…because they don't defend well. Not because they didn't score enough.
Losing Sutter is obviously hurting the team defensively but they (coaching) need to adjust. |

Yes the past three games have been absolute poope!! But that doesn't equate to the other 25 games.
Don't kid yourself, coaching is a big part of why they're currently losing. Along with lack of talent. |

That's true, but how you get that number one Dman is debatable.... Lots of examples of top picks being used on d-men and flopping.... Herter, Allen, ference, jj D.... Just to name a few. Meanwhile we're picked up elder, Tanev, bieksa, Hutton, etc all in later rounds or as undrafted players |
