Lols...
fed action in the states plays a huge part in how the C$ trades against the US$ and yes, deficits/ debt matter.
i didn't start the conversation, so don't just selectively jump in with your attack. if you've got a problem with talking economics or the politics that influence the economy then you should shut the conversation down with the first post on the topic and not the response or X number of comments in just cuz you don't like the message.
 - kaptaan
The original post was that the C$ was extremely low compared to currencies in USA and Europe. I can read between the lines on most topics, but A_SL never made mention of who, why or what to blame. YOU went there.
You purposely identified the new gov't after 6 weeks in power as the cause, because they campaigned on investing in infrastructure and running a deficit... your response was Sun Media propaganda plain and simple.
So if you think "I just selectively jump in with your attack" maybe you should reread what was posted and what you replied and take onus for your post instead of deflecting with inaccuracies. |

I wonder if WD puts his lines together with a dartboard. - A_SteamingLombardi
I'd guess he has some sort of astrological approach in conjunction with chicken bones and some Jamaican Rum, all the while wearing a native american head dress, tux jacket, grease stained white t shirt and cut off shorts with JC sandals and navy blue socks... and aviator ray-bans. boom shock a locka
you can get a dart board anywhere, that would mean anyone would be able to coach. |

The reasoning might have more to do with getting Bo going, than McCann. As mentioned yesterday, he has not looked great thus far.
The sophomore jinx is real. Seems to happen to everyone. - dbot
I think WD and JB are feeling the heat.
Slow start from Bo and Vrbata, essentially our second line hasn't been doing anything. |

with all the superstitions in hockey he should give your suggestion some thought what's to lose...maybe some Jamaican rum. - Makita
I always think of that old Major League movie and the player talking to his bat. |

What this team needs is an NHL level coach and even more so a NHL level D coach.
Gulutzen is fine....can the others. Poor performance. |

I'm not ready to hang coaching and MNGT just yet. See what they do with the full developmental process after TDL and next season when HOPEFULLY most or all of the old core are gone. - LordHumungous

I was at work earlier so I couldn't respond to the talk about a Hansen trade proposal I was suggesting.
Let's be clear about a couple of things. I agree Hansen brings it every game. He is right now our third best forward, and I can't begin to tell you how pathetic that is. He is a third liner playing on the first line. It lets you know the talent level of this team. Same as Higgens playing second line.
Hansen is having his aha Dale Weise moment. He still has hands of stone. He will come back down to earth. After the smoke clears he will still be a very good third liner.
Trading him to a bubble team when his stock is skyrocketing means you can get back a first round pick. A team like NJ Phi TB WPG all bunched up on the outside of the playoffs will get a 12 - 19 th pick , where we could enjoy many years of a Dante Fabbro or Tryler Benson or that 6'5 winger from Halifax .
Hamhuis and Vrbata are not going to get us a first round pick but Hansen could. Just remember boys and girls he is playing way over his head right now, and should soon return to his regular third line duties , when they hit a dry stretch. |

I really do understand the attachment fans get for players. Some recent picks by clubs around the 12 -21 spot in the last three years. Sanheim Pasternak Larkin Barzal . I would take those young guys over Hansen any time. |

The thing about trading known quantities for draft picks is that it is a risk.
This is the fundamental difference imo between fans who clamor for change or 'get attached to players'.
There is no guarantee that we would get improved value with a draft pick.
Hansen is great value, signed for years.
Is he a true first liner? No, i agree he is a great 3rd liner (and paid accordingly).
I would vote for holding onto him for now and perhaps trading him as we get closer to his end of contract (2-3 yrs from now).

Then you won't get a first round pick if you wait. NYI in the last two years traded for first round picks where they picked up players like Barzal and Ho-Sang. Very decent . Canuck in the last three years have traded for two first round picks Horvat and McCann. Very happy with both of those players. I honestly wouldn't mind a PMD Fabbro or a 6'5 winger at the expense of Hansen.
Hansen has one more year at 2.5 , he will want a Burrows type deal after that. |
