Hamonic is an upgrade on Tanev plain and simple as that. In Canucks world Tanev is valued way too high. Check and see how many hits he has in the last three years or goals. I will save you the trouble of looking up how many fights he has had , the answe is zero.
He is a position safe , soft player. Big deal . - VANTEL
Again Vantal you still didn't answer the question - I didn't ask who was tougher or the higher goal scorer - however, on that note, Hamonic only has 8 more goals in a 100 more games - so your point is pretty sad. And why are you talking about fights? thats not Tanevs job….thats like saying "we need a left wing, great passing, set up man" - "Uhhh, How about George Laraque??" - "Well bcus he shoots right and can't fawking pass"
WHY WOULD THE CANUCKS GIVE UP TANEV? (when they could have both)???
and don't just write off Tanev as a soft, safe player….its wrong and lazy - Tanev has been a consistent + player, great skating puck mover, shot blocking leader that puts up decent offensive numbers and is the only glimmer of hope (besides Hutton) on this mediocre team going into the future. My point is why wouldn't you want both Hamonic and Tanev and build on that? Unload Hamhuis, Burrows, Higgens and Vrbata at TDL or after and by next year we could possibly land a high end D prospect and sign a UFA like Goligoski or Schenn or go after someone in their final year like Vlasic, Hedman or Shattenkirk. |

Sorry I am not wasting my time anymore in a debate about Hamhuis Higgins and Jensen for Hamonic . Maybe if you threw in three firsts might that ever happen

I don't know which I prefer, the accidental or the intentional tank. I'm not thrilled with either. I don't think that the Canucks are a good team, necessarily, but I didn't think that they were as bad as they've looked. |

Been pretty busy this year. So I finally get time to watch the Canucks properly and I watch the Anaheim and LA games.
General question (and maybe their record speaks to this): have we looked that bad all season? |

A tank is a tank, I'll take it anyway we can get it, it's our turn to win a lottery. |

No, we're starting to peak on the suck scale. Full blown tank could happen with one injury. |

I don't like it. We're only a third of the way through the season, I'm not interested in cheering for a handful of balls in a lottery machine yet. And if we are that bad and we do win the lottery, God help the poor kid we end up drafting. |

Who knows what managements real intentions are? Were they hoping to fit the kids into the lineup? If McCann got sent back to jr at the start of the season, who would we have playing centre with Sutter hurt?
I think management were expecting some bumps, but don't think they are happy where we are.
truth be told, I am disappointed. we knew it was going to be tough to get into the playoffs. But when you have a legitimate first line in this league, it is tough stomaching the rest of the team when it isn't contributing. Before the Sedins got going, people were saying we lacked a legitimate first line centre. when they are gone, we will be wondering if we have one in the players we have or looking for another.
Who knew Vrbata was going to be so cold to start the season? all those one goal games we lost, who knows what our record would look like if he got off to a half decent start?
hopefully they aren't as bad as they have looked recently, because it is painful to watch. the silver lining if we are this bad is a good draft pick. but I still want to see some effort and heart. |

Not for entire games like the last few, but we've had devastatingly head scratchingly brutal stretches in the majority of games. Third periods are like watching a horror movie as a child. Scary and they haunt your dreams. |

Hey, good to see you.
We had a hot start and then started to struggle before the long road trip and are having trouble righting the ship. Sutter is hurt and his absence isn't helping the team. Hutton is out and we have been running around our zone a lot as of late. |

I thought they would fight for a playoff spot but would be in tough. As it is, playoffs are a cruel joke. This is not a playoff team.

as you walk away from the tv, you shake your head in disbelief and ask, what just happened?
The whole team needs a confidence boost. |

I don't like bringing it up but I repeatedly said move Vrbata now in the summer. I mentioned a few times also he would be lucky to hit 20 goals not playing with the twins.
Now back to regular programming

Yeah I've read all about our 3rd period tendencies. That's physiological IMO. Unfortunately when the fear of failure sets in it can take a momentum all on its own. Can't imagine this doesn't straighten out back to the medium before too long. |

I have heard JB and WD both try to put a positive spin on their struggles of late, i hope they are working on a plan behind the scenes... I really don't care who they dress when the team is struggling as long as they put in the effort.

This year's edition of the team was never built for greatness. It's incredible how the Sedins have able to buoy this team for this long. I had respect for those guys all along but they've moved up another notch on my respect scale. |

People lol this is what happens when you're at the end of your competitive cycle, you lose for a few years and try to get better thru the draft....this is what everyone has been crying for???
I want them to win but they've got a 19 & 20 year old playing 2nd and 3rd line center, like really, they've done well with the kids in the lineup and the sorry excuse for top six players like Higgins and Burrows. Not to mention the Sutter and Markstrom injuries. |

Thanks chief.
Injuries will happen. We seem to lack the depth to compensate.
You opinion on how the kids have been performing? |

One look at Edmonton doesn't speak well for what the end of a cycle can look like. Nor building through the draft.
Though to be fair it would be hard to $#%& up quite as badly as that franchise did with a rebuild. |

Who did the oilers surround the young players with?
They kept drafting the same position never paying attention to D or goaltending. Couldn't they have drafted Seth Jones and passed?
We will be like the Oilers if we think we can keep protecting them with Burrows Hiigins Edler Vrbata Hamhuis.
Our kids are fine , upgrade the secondary player |

Edmonton is the poster child for what not to do, they're the exception not the rule but I understand why everyone references them. Lots of good teams like Minnesota, St Louis, Winnipeg and even Los Angeles have all had varying degrees of success building then the draft without finishing at the bottom consistently. |

Edmonton unloaded everyone and tried to play just kids. Having vets around that are used to success helps insulate the kids.
It's the right way to do things. |
