When there was 6 teams - VANTEL
Yeah, it was prolly that long ago... thought I could remember my dad telling me something about it.
Maybe the 3v3 will work out, at least that way it will be more of a skills competition and less of a supposed game.
or as ASL suggested, just get rid of it and space the games out, getting rid of the b2b's.
If the league wants to showcase the talent, getting rid of the all star game might help ice a better product. |

Better idea... lose about 22 games, have the regular season end in February and the playoffs end no later than April 1 |

Hamhuis isn't worth much anymore and Higgins is barely a utility player at best, Jensen has proved he'll be a 4th liner at best (if he ever makes it to the dance - anyways I used those three as an example.
You didn't answer the question - why on earth would the Canucks give up Tanev?? Especially when him and Hamonic are practically the same player (also, no, Hamonic isn't a better player by the way) AND at this point Tanev is possibly our most consistent/reliable Dman... - Brooks_Light
Hamonic is better than Tanev in almost every way...except defensively they are about the same. That's it. |

I am not sure what is up with Hamhuis, maybe he is feeling the pressure, contract year, team in transition- part of the future? where will he end up?
Not sure if McCann even got out there for the 3v3, would like to see him get more opportunity. Scoring has dried up along with team confidence.
our d is so mediocre. - hillbillydeluxe
When fully healthy I think that the D is on the wrong side of mediocre. Right now it's... It's like watching that scene in Jackass where they give themselves paper cuts. |

Something to ponder n spitball...
Mounting injuries.
Lack of depth injury replacements.
Dropping in the division standings.
Wild cards highly likely to go to the Central division.
The Ducks r getting it together.
SJ can sustain their rise above the Canucks.
Ditto for Arizona.
Canucks presently sit 19th overall for 12th pick next draft.
What would u do as GM now or by the TDL?
1) play the kids n prospects more?
2) trade any of Vrbata, Hamhuis, Burrows, Miller, Edler or for picks n prospects?
3) stay the course for the playoffs?
4) decide now or later its time to to think about 2016 n beyond n say this season is worth a mini tank n any good offers pulls the trigger?
Any other options u have r welcome

Hutton really helped getting the puck out of our end, skating and passing. Then again, he was starting to make a few more mistakes- was playing a bit more, might have been wearing down.
When we miss a first year rookie this much, and maybe the loss of Frankie, who isn't even cracking the Leaf lineup, I tend to agree with you. might not even qualify as mediocre |

Vets are like used car . The longer you hold on to it the less value you will get. We have hung on too long to our players.
Just call me Captain Obvious - VANTEL
Hamuis is the poster child for this. In the summer people thought he could fetch a 1st. Now he may fetch a used car. |

The thing that bugs me is how so many fans can't see that this at best is a Mediocre bunch. None of them do anything really well. No puck movers , no big shots , mediocre speed, lose a lot of battles, no fighters.
I know fans get attached but there are so many better options |

I expected the Jets to be ahead of us at this point. Philly though... |

Pretty much agree n why i want many more changes this year.
Its a true transition time n i can put up with 2-3yrs of patience.
Other than the Sedins n the kids anyone is tradeable.
I Don't forsee the cap growing fast in the next few years n shaving vets n dollars r more of whats needed now. |

It was funny the first time with Rory Fitzpatrick. Now it's just stupid. Especially since it's John Scott who is a useless pos. - Scooby_Doo
Its more funny if they actually make the game and he gets shunned by the players and he tries to feel happy about himself. Im so evil. |

Yes we need them to teach the young guys to hang on for dear life and try to make it to the shootout. Lessons like that are invaluable |

You're going to have to live and die with this group at least this year, I don't see big changes until TDL and possibly not even until the draft. Our assets have depreciated so much that we'd have to give up more assets just to get rid of the assets we don't want (like in the Kassian trade) |

We may have to bring in Nucker to spread some cheer. |

Seriously I am fine with this bunch for this year. High draft pick . Fans will also realize how much we need change |
