So you think Hamhuis and Higgins and Jensen will get you Hamonic. I would think those three could fetch Doughty and Hamonic

Tanev is not as good as Hamonic and that is mistake #2

- VANTEL

Hamhuis isn't worth much anymore and Higgins is barely a utility player at best, Jensen has proved he'll be a 4th liner at best (if he ever makes it to the dance - anyways I used those three as an example.

You didn't answer the question - why on earth would the Canucks give up Tanev?? Especially when him and Hamonic are practically the same player (also, no, Hamonic isn't a better player by the way) AND at this point Tanev is possibly our most consistent/reliable Dman...

We could actually see that was the teams mindset. Putting 2 Dmen out to protect instead of attack.

Well well well…with Sutter going down for four to six weeks I think this is the right time for Mr. Benning to purge some of the vets and call this year a wrap. Try and get as many picks as you can because this year has been just one big injury.

It's obvious Willie is desperately trying to win at all costs but playing the veterans the most, I don't blame him, he's trying to win but can't see the forest for the trees. By trading away some vets WD will be forced to play the kids and TEACH them.

Hamonic is an upgrade on Tanev plain and simple as that. In Canucks world Tanev is valued way too high. Check and see how many hits he has in the last three years or goals. I will save you the trouble of looking up how many fights he has had , the answe is zero.

He is a position safe , soft player. Big deal .

diminishing returns from the vets, just like Miller... need wins play him more, struggling, desperately needing wins, play him more, sooner or later, it catches up to you...

Vets are like used car . The longer you hold on to it the less value you will get. We have hung on too long to our players.

You only keep the ones you'd put the classic car plates on...

It was funny the first time with Rory Fitzpatrick. Now it's just stupid. Especially since it's John Scott who is a useless pos.

when was the last time you watched and enjoyed an all star game? If Scott gets in, do we get to see him lineup opposite Kessel? or will Kessel even make the team?

I can't remember the last time I watched except it not being very entertaining.

We got 16 shot on net and awful possession time, I don't think we were competitive last night. You're right we stepped up the physicality, but did you watch that 3rd period? Embarrassing. Markstrom and the Sedins were competitive.
- neem55

Didn't the Kings have 4 third period power plays? Tough to get much going when you're on the PK for almost half the period.

The all star game isn't for us, it's for kids like Nucker. Making a mockery of it does not put forward a good example to the youth.
Change the voting system, and put an end to this disgrace.

Yeah drop the allstar game, reduce the number of back to back games for every team and just put a better product on the ice. If Americans don't like better hockey (frank)em

well, if it is for the kids and the kids want to see John Scott in the game and straightening out these little punk goal scorers with their fancy ass skills and pretty little plays, I migt just have to tune in to the action.

Back in the day, didn't the team that won the Stanley Cup for the previous year play the all star team?
