But the value of all of the above players must be at an all time low (except for Hansen), which is a shame.
- dbot

This is true. Burrows played well early on this year, maybe Mtl will still want him. I think Hammer is worth a 3rd to play 5/6 role on a deep running team (I know Yzerman loves him). Vrbata had a big year last year, so hopefully some team is banking on him returning to form. Miller has been pretty good IMO. Higgins... NYI bring in hometown kid for press/exp?

Great point and no...we don't. It has been touched on before here. If the ol Country Cub mentality is getting to the kids it needs to be stopped and stopped quickly.
- LordHumungous

I said yesterday that the Duck game was potentially a good lesson for the kids that you're going to get sht-kicked by bigger, meaner men and how you react will go a long way in their development. However, if the team continues to sputter, maybe a little trip to the junior world championships would be a good opportunity to get some success and further development.

While this sort of thing happens from time to time ....if bo horvats needs ronalds kennins to get going then you should be worried about what bo really is
- Redmile247

I'm not about Bo, he just needs to play with who he has chemistry with and more moxy than Sven. Kennins could be just that guy

I don't see a bunch of non-competative slackers. I see a team that is not as good as most other NHL teams due to them having one scoring line and 3 lines that don't and 3 maybe 4 defensemen that are actually NHL caliber out of 6. it's not rocket surgery, we don't have the personnel.

Something is up with Hamhuis, i think he's playing injured or something.
- dbot

Should have opted for surgery when he was out for a while last season. He just hasn't been the same since. Sure, he is older but that decision has probably cost him millions on his next contract.

I'd like to see Burrows gone. He was my favourite player for a while, but I think he needs to move.

I know, we all have a soft spot for Burr. He's been a career guy here and valuable, but if we are really rebuilding and he fetches a pick or prospect it's time.

I agree with the personnel issues and I have been pushing that in defense of WD for a few months now. My issues are attitude effort and toughness. The Lack of it stems from a stale core of players that really aren't (or have been) held accountable for lack of said efforts. Having a bottom 10 team aside...I see players like Edler Hamhuis Burrows Higgins and now Vrbata to some extent...lollygag around and play good one night then take two nights off...blah blahh blah with no accountability. The staleness has been here since 2011...it has to go. That is what I'm talking about. The kids look at some of the old vets and they get to do whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want play good/play bad and nothing is done about it. Even the Sedins or Miller aren't exempt from that mentality. That is a mentality shift we just can't afford moving forward. McCann Horvat Virtanen Hutton and most of the new guys Sutter and so forth need to get as far away as possible away from guys like Edler Hamhuis Burrows Higgins and Vrbata...and it needs to happen soon. I wouldn't say they are slackers...just that their time is done here and a different mental shift needs to take place.

Pedan laid out the two biggest hits of the night and set up a scoring chance ,of course WD Didnt like him , same as Gaunce scoring his first goal in his first game and getting sent down. I am now to the point I will be happy to see him get canned. It is almost like he is coaching to lose to get out of the contract.

plenty of forwards in Utica... Your guess is as good as any
- Codes1087

Higgins let the team know he thought he was ok to go. When he realized he wasn't it was too late. Pedan was the least of the problems last night but of course we will blame him anyways

Yup, would of been nice to see him play his position. It would be nice to see the kids get more chances but with the exception of McCann none have really earned it.
- belcherbd

Yeah I don't really believe that. Hutton has been our best Dman most nights this year. JV lays out a big hit and gets jumped and no support from his line mates. He probably has more hits this year than anyone and now more fights than Tanev and Edler combined in their whole career

I have zero issues with Pedan. I am glad the kid got to play. Seem to do well as a forward and threw the body. No complaints there.

I know the twins have been on fire all season but is there any thought Into trying to spread the wealth ....put bo with Danny and Hansen and put hank with vrbata and someone else ? Even for one game

Good thinking Kenins and Bo had a bit of chemistry last year.

Kenins doesn't play that aggressive on the road. He is certainly braver on home ice

I think at this point Sven should be in the ahl and give one of the guys down there a shot

I liked the hiring when it happened but I'm not too sure on him anymore ...he is sounding more and more like the sedins when Interviewed and his expressions on the bench are getting almost Dallas Eakins like

Yup he played his part in the 3 minutes he got.

WD has issues that he didn't create offense and yet we had one shot in the third and zero in OT.

I don't know if anyone heard the twins comments to Kouzma last night but they both said they just try to make it through the 3 on 3 and try to take it to the shootouts. Great leadership

I don't think he has been given a fair shot. Lots of players to pick on when we aren't getting the wins.

Would be curious to see him on the pp. I don't think he has hurt the Canucks, maybe a bad penalty the other game. Vets aren't getting it done and WD doesn't trust the youth enough to give them a chance.
