It makes you wonder if Kesler/Luongo really were the problem in the locker room... Burrows/Higgins/Hansen/Hamhuis/Edler are still there from the Meltdown Core. - DariusKnight
Kesler and Lou were a massive problem in the room and it's good that they are gone, but the lingering issues from all that old core still exist.
I like what Vantel said If I was Benning I would have marched Edler into the office the next morning...it's ten teams or Utica dude...

When he was here, he was one of the few guys that had a little grit in their game, he goes to the Ducks and it is additional grit to complement what they already have throughout their lineup.
will Prust and Dorsett play like they have something to prove tonight?
on the bright side, even though this is the 2nd game in a b2b, they should have lots of energy after expending very little against the Ducks. - hillbillydeluxe
Shouldn't only be up to Prust and Dorsett , Jonathan Toews dropped the gloves to come protect one of his teammates. |

Players I want off this roster:
Higgins
Burrows
Sbisa
Weber
Miller
Hamhuis
Prust
Dorsett
Players I want in:
literally anyone else. - Gullzy
Get rid of he only 3 players with grit? That's insane. That being said, I do think Prust is redundant as he is almost a clone of Dorset. We need one of that type of player to be a grinding agitator but we also need a heavier body that can skate to wear down the opposing D. Although Dorsett has value, his body checks aren't much heavier than Webers

Oh god the sedins drop the gloves. I can see that becoming a Alex Semin scenario. |

Got that right. I knew before most of them were chicken but after last night seeing them let 2 rookies and their goalie have defend themselves was the breaking point for me.
If I was JB I would have went up to Edler , give me a list of 10 teams or pack for Utica - VANTEL
Thank God you aren't the GM. Lose one of our most valuable trade chips on waivers |

Everyone step back from the ledge. Vantel has been right for the last 2 years in critisizing our core as being embarrassingly soft. Benning has constantly been ridiculed for ignoring analytics and preferring a "meat and potatoe" style. Perhaps he saw something before our fanbase was ready to admit it? Our team is soft, slow and old. I'd rather lose while defending my teammates and making the home rink and intimidating place to play as opposed to floating into a first road playoff loss by playing scared poopless and hoping for power plays.
Benning has been trying to address these issues since he took over. I'll give him a mulligan on Vey |

It isn't just up to them, tho they were brought in to bring a certain element to the game..
If you sit guys like Sven for not scoring, what do you do with guys on the 4th line that aren't even checking?
I'd still like to see Pedan in the game on defense, but will take him on the wing if that is the only way he gets into the game. |

I like Pedan on defense, not sure if he is used to playing on the right side? If not maybe pair him with Bartkowski?
I like your lines for at least a look, not sure if there is enough bite (who is going to win the puck battles along the boards) on that 3rd line though.

agreed (had already modified D lineup after further thought).
The lineup lacks grit, it's true.
The team lacks grit on the whole and i suppose that is the thinking that resulted in Pedan on the 3rd |

If team toughness and standing up for each other is the issue here as people are complaining about why would you want to rid yourself of your toughest players you have? That seems to be backwards thinking.
Everyone would want bennings head for doing that very thing |

Eberle and RNH on the trade market according to the bastions of truth TSN.
I don't think Eberle is a fit here.
RNH would be a wonderful heir apparent to the 1st line C.
Offers?
Tanev, Shink....etc etc. pretty much the same thing we were throwing at Ryan Johansen i guess. |

You need to look past the end of the nose.
Edler has zero value as a trade chip if he refuses to waive . Weber has more trade value right now because he does not own a NTC.
The point you are missing is if Edler decides he doesn't want to go we are stuck with him and his brain farts and soft play.
You only need to use the being sent down card if he refuses to go anywhere. I would rather keep the cap space and hire a tougher guy or a better offensive guy. I would rather take his 5 mil and use it on a player like Byfuglien than wasting my cap space on a guy that is afraid to fight and defend his teammates |

Not sure Id want any player from that sink hole of a team. Seriously? A player from a team whos 30th every single year? Sure you gotta take from the have-nots who need a shake up but that's beyond low |

perhaps edlers game would blossom if he were paired with a tougher guy who can take care of that allowing him to do his thing

No the need Defense, Edler alone isn't worth RNH. Baer+ picks make it even. They can also flip picks for other needed assets. |
