its wild how the second PP unit sets up exactly how the first one should. kunitz in the area crosby should be. warsofsky running it simply but aggressively at top. bennett right where kessel should be. perron crashing. high to low. movement. the threat of the shot from the point on net. very nicely done boys. |

How much better did that look with the Dman getting the puck on net and making things happen afterwards? I swear our biggest problem with the PP is Letang abusing the glass behind the net. |

2 points for Ronnie tonight imagine if this is the first game of a big tear for him. That would be great. Hornquist still doing everything he can but scoring to help them win. |

hell, half the time letang IS behind the net doing god knows what via sweeps. i mean obviously its a very small sample size from a player who likely wont be a long term factor, but that was still nicely done by warsofsky. everyone was where the were supposed to be. smart. simple. efficient. boom. |

Yeah Letang can't hit the ocean from the beach any more. Pouliot would be ideal he has a bomb for a shot and can see seams no one else can. But he got drunk on his birthday so he must be punished. Mugsy Warsofsky looking good on PP2. |

Lots of tools on the Penguins website and the Pittsburgh newspaper comments section that think Sestito would be the cure for everything right now. Same guys that pay for WWF pay per view events. |

well, on one hand, the crosby line still looked pretty clueless. but on the other, the rest of the team was pretty top notch.
in a way its good to see that the team can carry the play even when 87 is virtually invisible. |

Well did they play well or did Fleury steal this game too? I think the argument can be made both ways. |

I refuse to throw Sid overboard. I honestly believe he turns it around at some point. Really a dumb decision to weigh him down further with two 36 year old wings tonight. |

Outside of KCD, that was a beautiful performance. I'm teering up a bit. It's been so long since they just handled a good opponent.

scoring 5 goals is fun
anyone know why Dupes left the game? (I dont mean this in a mean way if its health related, but it took me a while to realize he was out given how invisible he has been)
If Dupes is out next game
Perron-Sid-Sprong
Plotnikov-Malkin-Kessel
Kunitz-Bonino-Hornqvist
Fehr-Cullen-Bennett |

I like those lines. That's what I'd do to. Unfortunately it will likely be Kuni and Hornie or Bennett with Sid. |

So 1/1 on the Westrn sweep.
You people predicting one win = congratulations. You win!
Only saw the NHL app for 2 goals being Culldog & Geno - sweet as a nut!!!
Sid got to throw a few by the looks - must want to be like 'Johnno' seeing as though he is the best there is!
5-1 well all those Debbie downers better have a few cans tonite, because the rest of the trip will be poop!!
Everyone with a little hope for our beloved Pens - carry on! |

I'm tired as hell. Hate these late games. Thought the game was OK. Pens got goals on two lucky bounces so I can't complain. Seemed like SJS spent a lot of time on the attack. 4th line was really strong again even when matched up against SJS top 6. They look more cohesive than the Crosby line. It's a 180 degree reversal of what we have been accustomed to. |

Meh, how about?
Bonino Crosby Horny
Perron Malkin Kessel (since this line is destroying it right now)
Kunitz Fehr Bennet
Ploty Cullen Spronger(since Johnston will only be playing him because he has to)
Cullen and Fehr are interchangeable |

Chicago seems to be doing quite well with the 2 superstar model, LA seems to do pretty well with a 2C,1D model to the one the Pens use. It may not have worked out to your liking but them is definitely proof that it can work very well in this league if the rest of the roster is constructed properly. - jaydogg1974
This is the first season the 2 superstars are getting paid as superstars! Let's wait & see how they go from here??? They've already lost a few key personnel that have been replaced with questions marks. 1 of which is already on the trade block!!
Don't they also have some very team friendly contracts??? That helps. |

My youngest son is 4 and he and I were watching some Penguins highlights—
"Dad?"
"Yes son?"
"Is that REALLY the best player in the world"
" No, son"
*switch to a Blackhawks game*

Are you talking about the guy that was accused of rape or the other guy?
Cause 1 is playing very well (probably appreciate his freedom a little more than he used to), the other.......he is fighting a bit more than usual!!! |

So onto the Kings after a little mini vacation in Southern California. In the history of the Penguins organization the dmen we let get away that we should never have probably starts with Sergai Zubov and number 2 with a bullet is Jake Muzzin. Remember those idiots last year at the trade deadline that said hey, just pretend it was Despres for Cole and Bortuzzo for Lovejoy. Well I would rather have Despres than Cole and Bortuzzo than Lovejoy. Imagine a defense of Despres, Letang, Dumoulin, Maatta, Muzzin, and Bortuzzo with Pouliot and Clendening waiting In the wings? Not only would that have been much better but Nino and Dubinsky would both be missing teeth right now. |
