That's exactly what I thought was going to happen. If Snow is dead set on getting back another top 4 d man for Hamonic in a one for one trade with a Wedtern Canada team he's stuck with picking between Buff and Hamhuis.

And both will wants more back since they are the only options... It's a game of who will blink first if he's only going D for D

Quick opinion question - DK/Yohe's site - worth the $$ or bunch of homers spouting homerisms?
- chimpira

i currently subscribe at the 4 dollars a month level. to me it is worth it. a good article to read every other day. so lets say 15 good articles to read a month for 4 dollars. so about a quarter a article. plus there is comment sections where you dont have to deal with all the idiots this site brings in (mostly from other teams fans)

i will probably go ahead and do the fanatic level next month, its $1.50 a month for 3 yrs. might just do the $2.00 a month for 2 years since the penguins are trending down in my book

either way, you can tell they are professionals. always a good read.

*the worst part for me is that i dont care about any other pittsburgh sports team to im paying for a lot of crap that i dont read.

Copy. Thanks! I might check into that. $54 for 3 years or $48 for 2 years seems very cheap. I mean, monthly is $4.

I am in the same boat. Live in DC area and only follow the Penguins.

The reason I don't subscribe is simply because i only follow the pens. Usually when they post a pens article, one of our good commenters here summarizes the article for us.

I usually look for those summaries, but sometimes they are not readily available. I follow Yohe,, Meesh, and Rorabaugh on Twitter to get a glimpse ... but sometimes it's not enough.

Slow day on Pens HB. Not even an occasional troll. I think everyone is getting read for that 0-4 trip out West.

If the Pens stay where they are, 3-4 place, MJ will stay the year. Unfortunately it will take a dive to make a change and if that were to happen, they will get another bandaid for a solution.

For next year I hope they:
1. Buyout Scuds
2. Trade Kuni
3. dump Dupes somehow
4. Add a top Pairing Dman
5. Fix whats wrong with 87 or trade him

That's pretty much my list, although I am ready to trade Letang as well.

I've had dibs on him retiring around 30 y/o for five years. Too much abuse and too little care by the league....same situation as Mario. If it comes to fruition I'll hate the league even more; it's damn-near unwatchable now.

I can't see him retiring. Thats too much $$$ to walk away from. Not to mention the endoresemt cash. I think his contract expires at 36? But yeah I was pumped for this season, but outside of a few 71 highlight goals and watching MAF bail the team out, its just not fun to watch anymore. Kessel is a huge disappointment IMO.

71, 29, and Dumo are the highlights for me this year. Also flashes of Fehr/Cullen here and there. Everyone else - VERY meh.

EDIT: I am hoping it's the coach. But I seriously doubt I will be more impressed if a different tool is behind the bench.

I've seen Fehr in 2 games. I had to try to find him, he just blended in and didn't really do anything. Dumo has been a nice surprise. Cullen is a nice 4th C. I think Malkin, Crosby and Kessel is too many fancy players that dont get dirty.

That Doan hit was hardly a gray area. It's a clean hit where Doan is finishing his check. He didn't try to elbow Letang, Letang wasn't blindsided, he wasn't hit in the numbers. You can't suspend that hit.
- rangerdanger94

The league looks at it differently depending the name of the player. Last season Robert Bortuzzo crushed Jagr with a clean legal check. The league suspended him 2 games with an explanation of it being interference as the puck was long gone from Jagrs stick, making him ineligible to be checked. The Doan/Letang situation was identical with the exception of the contact being less severe. I do not think either Doan or Bortuzzo deserved to be suspended, and I believe if it was some hack that hit Letang, the same 2 game would have been handed down. The Player Safety Department has 0 credibility in how they hand out "discipline".

Yeah that helmet isn't stopping anything at all. Maybe it will help give him a mental edge that he'll be more protected, but that's all.

Now imagine head on collisions at full speed with other 6' and over 230-400lb men.

There have been a few guys who have played 1-2 years and retired. Make whatever you can and get out ASAP. Chris Borland from the 49ers is a smart man. He could have been a stud for years to come.

- Pens_Burgh

Great example.

Now imagine in a fight most times a player isn't moving forward to take a hit so the impact would be less that the gif.

But the NHL is saying that is the cause for concussions & not other hits & checks????

They are trying to appeal to the wider audience where mothers don't want their little Johhny's being roughed up. So to keep it brief they are full of poop & not trying to eradicate concussions from the game by banning fighting!

This myth is busted!

Bennett - bye bye after this year for sure.
Bonino - ghost most games
Sid - ghost most games
Cullen - good value, but will be too old
Duper - love the guy, but he just can't cut it anymore
Fehr - can be useful
Hornqvist - ghost most games
Kessel - I am with you, very disappointed
Kuni - see Duper comment, minus the "love the guy"
Malkin - Keeper. Time to give Geno the "C"
Perron - ghost, wussy
Plotnikov - starting to do something, but skill set is not there
Rust - already in WBS
Sprong - WTF are they doing with him?? I am scratching my head. You brought him up - let him play or send him back to the Juniors.

I don't think there is a roster out there with which I am impressed with less. Maybe Carolina ... names look good on paper but don't play too well on the ice.

This "coaching" staff is trying anything that sticks - they are probably rolling the DND die to make up lines. This is hopeless.

I mean, if they give that line 3rd line minutes - I am all for it. I mean, the way Sid has been playing - maybe it will do him wonders as well.

Really nice lines tonight. Hornqvist on the 3rd line and BB playing LW. Sprong is tucked into the luggage compartment of the team bus. I'll bet they put Kunitz back on the 1st PP unit. At least they listed Letang as a 4 finally.

how can you seriously say kessel have been a disappointment... he has been the 2nd best forward on our team and 4th best player on our team... really need to revalue your expectations if you say kessel is a disappointment. the whole team have been really really bad especially the coaches. if you say either of dumo, kessel, malkin and Maf have been bad you should just leave this board forever.

Yeah thats just not going to cut it. Neither of them should be on the team at this point. The vid of Sid yelling at PH, dont think I have ever seen Crosby to that in his career. Sad, but PH is one of my favs on the team. I think 87 and upper management is the real problem with this club.
