You seem perfectly okay with embarrassing both Aussies and Pens fans.

I miss most teams having a goon line, hockey is not about teams with 20 figure skaters weighing 150lbs.

I miss when it took a McSorley or Bertuzzi type incident for people to use the word "assault" in hockey, or when a player took a big hit, got up and looked to deliver his own instead of there needing to be a scrum with a bunch of posturing that goes nowhere any time someone delivers a half way decent body check.

I don't even think he gets that much more abuse or harassment than any other NHL superstar. I think you can break down the tape of any elite goal scorer and see them take abuse like that in front of the net. What else is the opposition supposed to do...let the guy stand there untouched?

The difference between a guy like Getzlaf, Perry, Ovechkin, and Malkin vs. Crosby is that the first 4 guys I listed are big enough and have the balls to make it known that if you hit them, they will hit you back twice as hard. So people don't really (frank) with them anymore.

But seriously, I have zero sympathy for Crosby. The guy is the most talented and skilled NHL player of an entire generation and insanely rich. Every single hockey fan would trade places to be him despite all the "harassment" he gets. Boo (frank)ing hoo.

I can't speak for anyone but myself but I think most people who follow the Pens and Crosby are somewhat embarrassed by his antics. We are more tolerable of them because he can do things that few players can do and most of his stupidity happened when he was young. People are growing tired of him and it shows in many of the comments on this board. Before this year no one would have even thought about trading him but that has changed.

Yes, if ref deems it to be clean at full speed and the hitter gets attacked, 5 mins and a game maybe.

If your argument is that league discipline is based on who the hitter and hittee is then you'll get no argument from me. Consistency on calls as well as a removal of the nonsense instigator penalty is needed.
