So, Sam Reinhart and Marion Gaborik each had 2 goals yesterday - no assists. Wayne had 2 goals (incl GWG) and 1 assist

Guess which two made the NHL.com's Three Stars list and guess which one didn't?

Yeah I'm not sure what they're doing with MacDonald. He's a better option than Manning IMO.

MDZ Gudas
Ghost Medvedev
MacDonald Schenn

- Pixote Andolini

I'd take AMac, Morin or even Hagg at this point over Manning. I've seen enough of Manning to know that he will never be more than a 6/7 guy at the NHL level. So if they think either kid is ready, then bring one of em up, if not, just go with AMac.

So, whatever the problem with Medvedev was, it looks like the message got through.
- johndewar

Unless he was hurt, the problem was the coach not playing him.

Seen enough of Raffl. 4th liner. I have to admit I would play the one and only R.J. ( once healthy) over Raffl right now. Let him sit for a few games

The only time Manning looked decent was when Gostisbehere was carrying him. He wasn't passing the eye test, and he was a disaster when looking at the numbers.

How he was playing ahead of Medvedev is astounding.

It counts on the official scoreboard of the game. If it counts for the game - it should count for the algorithm the league uses in determining the best daily players.

I don't think they use an algorithm. And I don't even know what that is

Yeah, as someone mentioned yesterday, may have been you, LOL, it was like when Berube refused to put MDZ back into the lineup. You just sat there thinking, WTF??

Last season Raffl was a solid 2 way player who scored 21 goals in 67 games. Why does 24 games trump 67?

When Del Zotto got back in, he was a better player. Maybe the same will happen with Medvedev.

Berube benched Del Zotto for too long. There is no real defending it. But, feel free, you will anyway.

While I agree that it was too long, an objective viewpoint of it, shows that it doesn't need to be defended. Berube helped Del Zotto become a better player, and regain his career. End of story. I could of course respond in kind, as to what you will do, but not necessary in my opinion.

It doesn't, he was a rookie who scored 9 goals as a rookie, which isn't bad. Then he scored 21 in his second season. This player is clearly better than a 4th line player, despite the scoring slump this season, along with everyone else.

Ottawa on Tuesday. Even Berube had a 5 game win streak last year. But this team will need to put a streak together and avoid a rut to have any chance. Not sure if I see them becoming more consistent but they are playing together now more than before

as sucky as the Flyers have played it always gives me great joy when they beat the Rangers

So how many games does his slump have to get to until we accept a possibility that last season was a mirage? 40? 50? 82? 267?

I'm not saying he's a 4th liner, but I'm willing to accept the possibility that he had a career year last year.
