I agree what you have said, but have to remember Pulock & Mayfield are also RH dmen and Pulock could push Hamonic for that top 4 spot. Isles could use a luxury on 1 end to fill another luxury on another. Not implying anything, just making a case of why I could see it...

I would have to believe (although it's the Islanders, who am I kidding) that they would have at least seen what Pulock looks like for a few NHL games before they go offering up a top 4 defenseman like Hamonic who is signed cheap and for a long term. Is Snow really going to make that move with no idea what his top defensive prospect looks like at the NHL level??? That's insanity.

I have no belief that Mayfield will be anything other than a bottom pairing defenseman in the NHL, if even that. He can't skate and brings zero offensive skills to the table.

Yeah no argument about that. He could be a good 3rd pairing guy. But if that's the case, then what in the name of (frank) are they thinking about trading Hamonic for?

If Pulock was here, playing well, and showing signs of being a legitimate top-4 NHL defenseman then fine...I get it. But to consider making this move blind? That just doesn't sit right with me.

Hamonic loves the Isles. This is personal. Wpg, Edmtn, Cgy and Van all preferred. Might expand to other west cities. Tough on Isles....

Exactly. And why "Western Canada" as opposed to Winnipeg where his family is? If he ends up in Vancouver, that's a little extra time in Winnipeg than at present, but not much more. It would be nice to know the rest of the story...
