I guess if it's Nurse and not Klefbom it's not that out of the question. But I dunno, I think Strome could be really good. - eichiefs9
Strome will be good......but the isles are in a bit of a jam with him. They are soooo deep down the middle and Strome doesnt really have a place. Why not bring in a real winger who knows JT and has scored 30 goals without playing with Tavares. With Tavares, Eberle is a 40 goal scorer, and a righty shot for the left side of the PP. Nurse is an absolute beast.......he's got tremendous upside. |

Really? I actually thought thats a decent trade. Nurse & Strome potential. Hamonic & Eberle proven. Nurse was great in the WJC. - mdw7413
Yeah it's not terrible by any means. Nurse is probably going to be very good. |

Too much for isles to give up, Eberle is good but has a high salary, Strome still unproven yet but has the high potential at a low cost currently. Big difference when you play with a cap situation.. |

Disagree.......Eberle played with Tavares. He's a skilled winger who can come right in and make a difference on the PP. Eberle makes basically 2 million more than Hamonic this year. How is this such a major cap hit?
Dont forget, Strome is a center and the isles already have 6 centermen on the team as we speak. Nevermind, Barzal and Ho sang o'clock coming up the pipeline.

I am really hoping EDM can work out something to get a deal done to acquire Hamonic but I would be shocked if PC ends up trading Nurse. EDM has been waiting years to have a dman like Nurse, as well PC wouldn't even consider moving Nurse for Hamilton.
Hopefully a deal will get done but as I said I will be shocked if Nurse is involved. |

If I am Garth I sit down with him and talk about giving him some games off so he has extended time...etc. If you have a week with a big cap in games give him 2 off and let him spend a week home..etc. He lost his Dad at young age so I hope for his sake everyone is OK..but it certainly doesn't sound good. Unless someone blows me away I don't trade him at all |

I have no interest in Yakupov whatsoever. His uptick this year was 100% a result of having McDavid center him.

#Oilers Nail Yakupov has 1 point in 5 games since Connor McDavid was injured. He had 10 points in 13 games with McDavid in the lineup. |

Ho-Sang is a W not C
Eberle may play well with JT but your inquiring another injury-prone player who's soft with skill, I wouldn't mind him but think Snow could get someone better. just my opinion. |

Eberle's salary isn't too high, especially in today's NHL. I think you have just been blessed with having JT on the best contract in the NHL. |

He probably won't, but it never hurts to aim high
The truth is nobody really knows what the return is going to be. Per Friedman, the Islanders are asking for a roster defenseman comparable to Hamonic back. So there's no chance it's going to be Eberle for Hamonic. I like Eberle a lot, but this team has a lot of offense already and some really high-end talent hot on their heels in the system. We need a defenseman. I don't know a lot about Klefbom, but if it's not going to be him or Nurse than the Oil aren't going to be trade partners. I have a feeling it's going to be Tyler Myers out of WPG. Maybe Trouba, but who knows. He's having a down year anyway, from what I can tell. |

Hamilton is not Hamonic. Travis Hamonic can play top minutes and shut down the leagues elite. Add to that his ability to play both PP and PK, his willingness to drop the mitts, and sacrifice his body for the team. I like Darnell Nurse' upside, but dont discount Hamonic......hes a phucking beast.

I understand his game, but playing with JT or even someone else on roster, kid is fast and has a great shot, something the isles players lack. |

When you have Leddy & Boychuk as the main high contracts, plus being able to pay JT $10-12m next, have to balance out the other salaries amongst the players, that's why isles don't want to pay KO $6-7m |

I think Hamonic is a class act and I don't see this being he needs a couple days/weeks off to spend time with a loved one who God forbid could be dying.
I am assuming someone could be pretty ill that maybe only has a couple years left and would still need medical treatment, hence why this trade request has become public and he is only looking to go to western Canadian teams.
If this really was the case of needed some time off I am sure Snow would have already done this and this wouldn't be as public as it is.

I am definitely not discounting Hamonic, I have been a fan of his and know what he brings to the table. I will be ecstatic if PC can get a deal done and acquire him, I will just be very surprised if Nurse is involved. |

I understand what you're saying but at the end of the day, Nurse isnt proven, and Hamonic is. Time will tell, but my proposal had a proven NHL player and a prospect going to each team. Fair deal to me, but what do I know.......im no NHL GM thats for damn sure. |
