I agree, it really does suck. This post is right on the money one good team and a bunch of mediocre ones to go with the Buffalo and the Leafs - ClarksonDavid
of course you would agree because your team is on a 8 year rebuild plan which will back fire anyways because you have the worst scouting system in the NHL and nobody wants anything to do with signing as a free agent in your market, you anoy hockey players and throw jerseys on the ice. |

Yeah, so... The Senators have lost more than half of their games. I'm not sure what part of that fact you think makes them 'awesome' and everything else just 'hunky-dory'. |

Last I heard Alfie was on the ice helping the guys practice and take strides to work on things. Last I checked we are in a playoff spot, last I checked we have salvaged points almost every game we have played. Last time I was on a hockey team as a player non of us liked anoying negative fans on a daily basis even when we win. Last time I checked your window your wife was making you sleep in the couch again. |

Leafs scouting is pretty good right about now.. take their prospects over ottawa's everyday. Ottawa has lost more then they've won and are 2nd in their division. Good thing for the loser points though. Babcock wanted alot to do with the Leafs.. not sure why you're getting so upset about an opinion? It is a weak division right now, could get alot better once tampa wakes up. |

im not upset, if you wanna come in here in troll then im gonna troll right back at ya. Babcock wanted alot of money more like it. I would take Colin White over any prospect you have in your system right now. You have the worst scouting system in all of professional sports and your team is rated the worst franchise is the world.

First off... Are you actually Jason Spezza? If so, sorry for all these dbags talking you down on this thread, you'll always be my hero.
Second off, if you're not Jason Spezza, who are you that suffered so much from having forums full of randoms making jibes about your play?
Thirdly, I'm Mr. Clean, beeyotch. I'm not married. Hell, I'm not even real. Just the sexy bald guy everyone else's wife fantasises about when she's scrubbing the bathtub |

Leafers are on the right track ,believe it or not so are we .This team just needs to keep it full roster intact for more than a game or two ,hard to build chemistry with people slotting in and out of the lineup |

Mike Richards
The Good - He would bring skill, leadership and a work ethic that this team needs, Would cost very little, and at the very least at first would bring in some fans who want to see how he will do.
The Bad - He clearly has/had a drug problem and that would need to be addressed before and during his time here (although that being said there is certainly precedent in the NHL for that... Emery, Redden, Macgratton...ect). People seem to say he is slow and yes he has slowed down that would be need to be addressed before being signed. (but I think we would be bringing him in to fill a work ethic and leadership role not a speedy youngster...we already have that)
Personally I like the idea of bringing in Mike Richards as long as the drug thing is done with. Being one of the hardest working guys in the league, I think would be even more so because he would be trying to prove that he can still do it. I think the good qualities he could bring to the team, well outweigh the bad. I also think bringing him in would be cheap enough that we can still look at some trades or pick up of other players.
If he doesn't work then no big loss. and if he does then we have a quality vet for a few years or a potential trading chip... we'll see |

Stay away from Richards
In my self proclaimed expert opinion Richards adds nothing to the Sens that they don't already have. |

why does wiercioch hold so much value in your trade proposals? This is the same guy who was almost dealt at last years deadline for Stefan Elliott and a 3rd when he was playing good. Now hes a healthy scratch and playing like junk...yet hes tossed around like hes an attractive piece?
dont quite understand the logic on this one - DDM-Coga
Avs showed interest last year, so people are slotting him in trade proposals. It's not like he would be the focal point of a potential deal.
Every other NHL deal for a star usually involves a high picks, decent roster players/or high touted prospects, and a young players. I think people see Wiercioch as the young player with the trade proposals.
Proposals are no different than any other fans on here trying to get a deal to bring in a nice piece. Don't sit so high and mighty. The general consensus is that Ottawa and Colorado are not good trading partners if Duchene is the piece being moved. |

Why does everyone assume he has skill, leadership, and work ethic now? Wouldn't he already be signed if that was the case? There are two possible outcomes. He has skills, but no one is signing him because of the existing drug stuff or he is done with the drug stuff ad just isn't the same player and no one is signing him. My opinion you stay clear either way unless you can get him to try out in the AHL, then it's fine. |

Even when he was on the drugs, He always had skill. and he has been noted as one of the best leaders and hardest working guys in the league since he was on Philly. NHL36 even did an episode on him and basically his work ethic was the focal point.
I think the drug use is whats stopping teams from picking him up. Even with the drug use last year teams were talking about trading for him from LA but no one could get around that huge contract. |

Then why aren't those teams signing him for a million bucks now?
When a player is done with drugs, they aren't the same player. It's sad, but true. You very rarely see a player perform the way they did when they were doing it. Perhaps Richards can be an NHL player, but if people are expecting him to be the guy that captained Philly and help win the Stanley Cup in LA, they are dreaming. Or, he is the same player and still being sketchy as ever. A team based in LA didn't even want him with the issues (and Philly for that matter), that won't sit well in Ottawa. Especially after Murray basically cleaned house of the sniffers and poppers years ago. |

The work ethic is gone. Richards is nothing but a shell. A useless player. The whole problem with Richards was his work ethic. He promised to come to camp in the best shape of his life and he came to camp lazier then ever. That is why Lombardi feels betrayed by Richards. Richards made the pitch to avoid getting bought out, Lombardi believed him and it was a lie. Nothing changed. The drug use was nothing but a loophole out of the contract. Richards lied to him so he used any method possible to dump him. If any other player had gotten busted like Richards did, they would still be on the team. It was all about Richard's broken promise. |

I think a lot of teams are taking a "lets see" attitude because of his history.
Drug use wouldn't effect his work ethic or his leadership. it would degrade things like his speed and timing...ect. But those are things that be fixed a bit. I'm not saying we would get him at his highest level or even expect him to put up big numbers. But I do think he would be a solid leader on this team and I think it's worth giving a shot. As long as the drug thing is over and done with. |

[Top 6 Forward] - Turris - Stone
Hoffman - Zibanejad - Ryan
Michalek - Pageau - Lazar
Chiasson - Smith - Neil
Methot - Karlsson
[Top 4 D-man] - Ceci
Boroweici - Wideman (not best 3rd pairing)
*MacArthur coming back could REALLY help. Puempel or Prince stepping up would also really help.
*As for top 4D, Weircioch was supposed to be THAT guy. Cowen's ceiling was always but right now one could be kept as a 3rd pairing / reserve and Sens bring in a Daley or Hainsey. |

myself I would consider him ottawa's top prospect. The hockey news is considering him the steal of the first round and comparing him to Patrice Bergeron. He is dominating division one men's hockey and will most likely be the captain of team usa at the world juniors. But I can see your point there is a pile of prospects in our system right now. I am not sold that Toronto is on the right path there top two prospects are very undersized, Kadri was a bust, almost all of there first round picks in the past twenty years haven't done anything and all of there late round pics hardly ever see any NHL ice time. Babcock isn't Jesus. I really don't have anything nice to say about the leafs I hate them and I love to watch them lose. I don't go in the leafs blogs and I don't understand why clarksondavid is always lurking around in here. lmao

April 2016 /playoffs (players ages roughly)
Hoffman (26.5) - Turris (26.5) - Ryan (29)
MacArthur (31) - Zibanejad (23) - Stone (23)
Michalek (31) - Pageau (24) - Lazar (21)
Pumpel (23) - Smith (28) - Chiasson (25.5)
Prince (24.5) - Lazar (21) - Lindberg (20.8)
Paul (21) - White (19.5) - Gagne (19)
Methot (31) - Karlsson (26)
Cowen (25) - Ceci (22.5)
Wiercioch (25.5) - Wideman (26)
Borowieci (26.5)
Chabot (19)
Anderson (35)
Hammond (28)
Looking at this information the Sens have a new wave of forwards about to take some spots. MacArthur and Michalek are very questionable to be top 6 forwards going forward which means the Sens HAVE to get Puempel or Prince to fill those shoes behind Hoffman. Zibanejad is another guy. Lazar and White look like potential steals for where they were selected ... but the Sens biggest need will be on D..... Chabot is atleast 2 years away. If the Sens are going to win a cup - it looks like O'Connor will have to be the guy between the pipes. |

I think if we all had our druthers, MacArthur and Michalek would be on the 3rd line with Pageau.....
the following guys would be used in trades to get a legit LW for Zbad's line
Pumpel (23) - Smith (28) - Chiasson (25.5)
Prince (24.5) - Lazar (21) - Lindberg (20.8)
Paul (21) - White (19.5) - Gagne (19)
hell, I'd even throw in MacArthur and Michalek
and...
the following would be used to get a legit partner for Ceci
Cowen (25) - Wiercioch (25.5) - Wideman (26)
hey .... its all rainbows and lolipos in my world today
signed,

You've been around this thread for awhile and I think everyone can agree that you aren't a troll, but please don't start trolling cause one guy is being ridiculous.
Colin White is not Ottawa's best prospect, but yes, the Leafs do have better prospects than the Sens right now (as they should.. considering where they've finished the last few years).
As for Richards, why is no one talking about the simple fact that he is slow as molasses? It doesn't matter how much skill or heart or desire you have. If you can't keep up, you can't keep up. It doesn't matter if he's clean or on drugs or whatever.. if he can't keep up, he can't keep up.
The Sens already have one forward on each line that is below average NHL speed (Stone, Ryan, Chiasson, Neil). With the first two, it's fine cause their skills and smarts make up for it. The other two are pretty disposable, but still.. I wouldn't want to add another slow guy to the mix.
You would think someone would have given him a shot by now.. even a professional tryout. And I don't buy that it's because of drugs. There are so many NHL players that do drugs. If he could help a team out, he would have at least got a PTO by now. 30 GM's don't want him for a reason and it's not cause of drugs. |
