Which penalties? Not all minors... that wouldnt work.... you would have games where for 30 minutes, there would be teams on the PP...

Or worse.... not calling game changing penalty because the need at least 20 minutes of 5 on 5 tonight....

Or you get scored on 3 times after a dive that the refs later realize in between periods dooped them... so the world can see just how much cause and effect is in effect with the officials.... I would stop watching hockey.... they go too far already.

Didn't penalties last the whole 2 minutes in the old days? (70's) wasn't this a rule before or was it the icings, during penalties, that was called in the old days?

I saw that, wanted you to confirm it...

Funny how he said speculation is he's been traded, and there is no one speculating that anywhere. (Except here) Lol .

Follow your dreams, send Higgins with Vrbata.

I dont think its wild to think that JB's scouting trip was to take a look at draft eligible players and some other teams' junior age prospects he could acquire via trade. Probably too early and too much of a slump to be moving Vrbata at this point

They should trade him to Phoenix, he always plays well as a Coyote.

Not that I have anything against Dave Hodge, but given the amount of cuts made at TSN/Bell, how did this guy survive? This might be the most pointless article of nothing I have ever read. I feel worse for reading it...

If it's true that a one-goal loss hurts more than a blowout loss, the Vancouver Canucks definitely feel worse than any other NHL team for all the one-goal losses they've suffered.
Incredibly, 11 of their 12 defeats have been by a single goal, and the other loss would have been by that same narrowest of margins had a goal in the closing seconds of a 4-2 loss to Toronto not been declared offside by an inconsequential video review.
But let's think more about how tough these one-goal defeats actually are to swallow, because six of them have come in overtime, which means that those games have produced six of Vancouver's 20 points in the standings. And that's good enough for a second place tie in the Pacific Division.
On the other hand, there's the problem of an 0-6 record in overtime. Some thought the 3-on-3 format would be made to order for the slick-passing Sedins.
So where are we in deciding what this Vancouver team is all about? Do the Canucks look bad for the fact they can't win close games, or are they playing pretty well to be getting so many chances to win?
If it must be one or the other, I'll say "thumbs up" with the thought that the Sedins are bound to produce an overtime goal and in that way or in some other way, the Canucks will start winning by one, at least as often as they lose by one.

Not sure if its because Vrbata is missing, but I am not sure I like the bottom 6. Seems like Shink could have had a second chance, playing 3rd line

That was probably one of the best episodes ever produced. Homer intentionally gains weight to go on disability. That episode was golden!

Apparently Vrbata has a "minor injury" that's keeping him out tonight.

Miller starts, Sbisa's back, Weber sits.

That and more in the new blog:

I understand there is a major trade rumour between the Canucks and Philadelphia involving Vrbata for tickets to the Star Wars The Force Awakens. Philly is trying to knock that down to a BluRay copy of Jurassic World but the Canucks are demanded a theatre showing rather than a home DVD. I hope Ek picks up on this.

Guy Boucher was fired from Bern Switzerland today. Anaheim anyone??? Man I wish the Canucks could somehow get him into the organization but maybe he is not a type that blends with our present coach.

WHEN I READ THIS I THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE.....

TSN is reporting that the All-Star game will not be a 60 minute game of 5 on 5.... they think three 20 minute games of 3 on 3 is better.

WHAT THE FL*CK-A-DOODLE-DO!!!!!

Either the game is good enough to be presented by its all stars or it is not.

I would rather they set up an XBOX weekend where fans could actually play with or against NHL players via XBOX LIVE.

100% Stupidity.
