Just saw a stat that with Corey Schneider's shutout on Saturday, he moved into 2nd place on the Devils all time shutout list.

When you include Hunter Shinkaruk tonight, 9 different players have made their @NHL debut with @VanCanucks in the last 13 months.

"change is coming"

Seems like such a waste to have Hunter on the 4th line. Hopefully, keeps messing with the lines like he usually does and Hunter ends up taking shifts on the other 2nd and 3rd lines throughout the game.

He'll have to just rely on his super-human shooting skills.
Hope it doesn't jeopardize his chances of making Team Canada for the World Cup of Hockey.

- Marwood

yeah, he'd be a solid 3rd line addition to that team with his speed and puck skills. not to mention his PK ability...

he's been getting PP time on the 2nd unit in Mtl... so he'd be an option out there in case it went dry during the tournie...

I for one am looking forward to seeing how Weise stacks up against the Nux tonite...

Weise hat trick would be nice....

I thought you were full of shenanigans typing this but damn it if it is not true.

Brodeur: 124
Schneider: 122
Hedburg: 8

Actually Schids only has 9.

Was there not a song when Hedburg played for the Canucks? It was a spoof of a country and western song.... can't find it on youtube

Uh... you may not be aware, he actually plays on the 3rd line... which outproduces the so-called 2nd line...

i think the seahawks are essentially a bubble team now. bad player mgmt has depleted the talent on the team over the past two years. didnt' watch on sunday...

- kaptaan

Would have to agree. The amount of personnel they have lost since the championship they just haven't replaced properly and the MNGT aspect of it like you said is pretty bad.

Wasn't Weise on the first line when he was scoring? Oh right...he's 'injured'...

lol...just playin Kap...I'm happy for Weise regardless of what I think of him.

He'll get time on the 1st line. They want him to get his 1st goal.

Truthfully he should be playing second line. Give him a chance to shine. If you don't want him on the team showcase him to other teams.

Yes he should be in that role, but last time Burrows played that was his [EDIT: 4th line] spot. Bad timing otherwise I would think he'd have a 3rd line spot

Vrbata and Baertschi have combined for 5 goals on the second line. Why not try something different ? It can't hurt

They would have been fine this year if they had won the Super Bowl, that final play made them rethink their entire strategy and thus... the trade for Graham was the worst decision they made by far, they basically said to Wilson, here, we got you a receiver... good luck getting the ball to him since you won't have time back there to get the ball to him (not that we're a passing team as it is). The salary cap and expectations dictated the loss of some of their better talent (Maxwell for one) and Caroll's become far too predictable. The Super Bowl loss more than anything is what hurt the team since they felt they should have won it and it's lingering still. This year is a loss, be nice to see what they do in the off-season to retool since the Legion of Boom isn't the same and Chancellor's going to want payback for coming back without renegotiating his contract.

I mostly agree. I can see WD wanting to figure out chemistry with those he knows are sticking around for the next few months, but you're right give a guy with a hot hand some freedom to go on offense and see what happens

Guys, this is not the pre season. It's common for a rookie call up to start in a limited role and there is no rule that states JB cant move him up in game.

I've seen it a number of times... the "idiot" coach puts the call up on the 4rth line and they get a big goal.

Right now it's about winning, not accelerating a call ups career. There is no argument that "if it's about winning then put Shink on the second line".... he hasnt played a game yet.... that is a baseless argument.

Brodeur played for 40 seasons.

Except our second line has 7 goals in 18 games. The bar isn't too high to be given a chance to succeed . Our second line is scoring like a fourth line and other players should be given a chance to see if they can do better
