You bash WD for being inexperienced and making mistakes, but you want Gulutzen to have a larger role? You realize that by seasons end they will have the same experience with WD having more success at literally every level. AHL - WD won, NHL record - WD only needs 9 more wins to surpass Gully's total.

Coaches will make mistakes, just like the players will. Its tough to be in a position to put your success and trust in players to provide the outcome you desire. Even having Babcock coaching here would only have a minimal impact on the bottom line, the players play the game and the Canucks' horses are just getting old and the new ones aren't quite ready to be impact players

I think they are missing them. Especially because the kids have had to take on a bit more. 15 or so games isnt enough experience to be totally adjusted to NHL speed, so I think that they are a little overwhelmed at times for what they are being asked and it has a ripple effect on the team. I think this is a dip and they can pull out from under it, with the goalies getting a more balanced schedule going forward they can steal a few of these 1 goal outings IMO

I think they are missing them. I hope it is just a dip.

I want some moves made at tdl, but expect to be disappointed if we are in a playoff position. The experience may be just as valuable to the existing prospects as a better pick at the draft. and don't like the idea of not wanting to do well either.

I want playoff hockey as well, I think that experience (and ultimately the disappointment of losing there) will drive that next generation of players being filtered in. I do have some faith/feeling that JB wont be shy this year about moving players at the TDL. More of hockey trades, or at least acquiring potential UFA's for RFA's that look negligible on paper in terms of performance in an effort to get younger. I dont see a whole lot of selling for draft picks unless the team is on the outside at that point

Can't wait for the tdl just to see what happens. either way, i have no idea who JB would prefer to move or who he likes. I'd hope he'd look to moving some of the older guys, but even if they miss the playoffs this season, they won't want to miss it twice in a row... so wondering where JB sees the balance being?

Yeah I actually am looking forward to it and next offseason too...
I think if they hold a playoff position, they wont be dealing. If they are on the outside but in the hunt I can see him taking the opportunity to sell things off. Its just harder to have the guys that are here for next season feel good about being in a playoff spot only to sell off parts for picks and watch the team fall. If its an uphill climb, then the players will understand the situation IMO

There might be a bit of an announcement Saturday afternoon.

I was thinking the same, based on play and roster JV is the more expendable of the two. But he already played and won there, so there isn't huge motivation/benefit for him to go. At the end of the day I cant see either going

Temper expectations on Shinkaruk IMO, everyone, he's playing with Dorsett and Cracknell and he'll probably get six or seven minutes of ice-time.

I can see WD liking his tenacity though, he's quick and an aggressive player despite not being a physical guy. Gaunce was able to gain an increased role in a short period of time, I think the way Shink has been performing it wouldnt be out of the question to see him get a couple extra earned shifts out there
