okay slowly this time, the leafs cannot attempt to trade him without first offering him to any other team that put in a claim when he was on waivers, they aren't entitled to any compensation.
if no other team that put in a claim while he was on waivers wants him they are free to try and trade him.
if he is put on waivers the Canucks can reclaim him
