That broadcast was so pro-Canucks all night. And yet Canuck fans will whine the Leafs are loved so much by the entire National media. |

Fun game. I like that Vancouver retools instead of rebuilds and holds onto their franchise guys in the Sedins. Surprised at how poorly Hamhuis, Edler and Tanev played. Impressed by the young guys Horvat, Virtanen and McCann.
Big difference in the game was the transition. Babcock has turned the Leafs transition game around completely, up the ice quick and tidy. JVR - Kadri is about the only dangerous pair on the team, but everyone is playing well positionally in all three zones.
Oh and traditionally Miller has been lights out at the ACC for many years I would started him for sure. |

I honestly don't mind Canucks playing like this. It is about time we got a couple of high draft picks and got rid of some old core |

I wouldnt mind the lines
Daniel-Henrik-Hansen
Baer-Horvat-Virtanen
Shink-Sutter-Jensen (Size and hes not doing bad at all)
Gaunce-McCann-Dorsett
Wouldnt win much games, but the kids have a vet to lean on and itll be development and a high pick. Everyone else can be traded for picks and kick build the prospect pool |

IMO it is becoming more apparent this team needs to let go. I know the twins have earned the right to stay , but in honesty they deserve a shot at the cup . TB are probably going to lose Stamkos this offseason so they need a fill in.
You can patch together the players but I would try for Sedins Edler to TB for Kilorn Sustr their first and second. We would eat most of the twins and Edlers salary this year only.
Hamhuis Vrbata should be traded off too. That is where your depleting trade value is. You won't get value for Higgins or Burrows so they could mentor one more year. Can't believe I said keep Higgins one more year. Hansen needs to stay
You could restock the shelves somewhat in UFAs |
|
|
|
If Canucks did move
Edler 5 mil
Twins 14.2 mil
Hamhuis 4.6 mil
Vrbata 5 mil
Prust 2.5 mil
Higgins 2.5 mil
That is 32.8 in cap space . You could offer sheet Reilly. Offer Stamkos top money
And keep enough to have money for RFAs |

I will check those out. I like melodic Death metal far more than mainstream metal... specially Viking Metal. One of my faves going back to the early 90's was Unleashed. Another viking band from Sweden.
My music tastes are all over the place... even Folk(Pogues), older outlaw type country(David Allan Coe),,, dirty hard rock(Headstones and 70'd drugged out Rolling Stones) but my tastes are more punk if I had to pick one. It's where I came from. Mention me to any group of older punks in any of Canada's punks scenes and the legends would start pouring out... some of them true even. - boonerbuck
I checked to see if I have any Unleashed in my music library. I have Unearth but not Unleashed and I will check them out. Out of 1200 LP's and about 2200 CD's I lose track sometimes...
I started into some Viking Metal around ten years ago when diversifying my tastes. I do have some Enslaved and The Sword here as well amongst a few others I can't remember right now. But much like yourself my tastes are all over the place. I am a huge fan of 'melodic' and really anything that is relatively talent based when it comes to metal. My mainstream Metal flavours ended with the 80's but even that was getting saturated for the time. There are great metal bands out there today people just need to look for them now.
If you like melodic (but not death metal) I would highly recommend Queensryche. Their first four albums are sheer brilliance IMO. Queensryche ST, Warning, Rage For Order and Operation Mindcrime are all gems. Especially Rage For Order and Mindcrime. It wasn't considered mainstream in the mid to late 80's but they sure held their own vs the Iron Maidens and Judas Priests...Metallicas of the day. Geoff Tate the singer (at one time) could hit 6/7 octaves and could just wail...it was something to behold as a teenager listening to their stuff in the 80's. Mindcrime is regarded now as one of the tope ten metal records of all time...rightfully so.
I also have Amon Amarths 'Deceiver of the Gods' and it's goo as well. But after I logged off HB last night I went on a metal binge with a bottle of wine.
Angel Witch, Exodus, Mercyful Fate, Metal Church, Opeth were spinning on the system. I'm sure you're familiar with the evolution of Opeth's records if you are into hardcore metal. So much good stuff out there. |

But, but , but the CBC guys are anti-Leaf and even they said it should be disallowed. - golfingsince
Simpson was calling it a no goal before it even entered the net...without properly looking at it. I was wrong by saying it hit Hansens left skate also as I thought the one angle showed it did. But for sure it hit a Leafs skate first then hansens for the redirect. When they were interviewing Miller on CBC after the game they 'found' other angles to look at it. Again I am saying good on Ryan Miller for questioning all of that and saying he was confused on the call...they really need to clean that shat up. |

Simpson on record said he feels that should be a goal. what game were you watching? The war room had all angles when reviewing it.
The broadcast all a Canuck love fest. |

If that happened id defiently give stamkos top dollar, but im sure toronto would match any offer on reilly (except if it was 4 firsts compensation then id be mad) Ryan Murray was a healthy scratch the other game, wonder what id take for him |

When Morgan Rielly was drafted, his father looked to the heavens and said "Thank You". It's a dream for him to play for the Leafs.
Same with Stamkos. He's from Toronto.
But you just know the same people who said Babcock will never sign with the Leafs will yell "Dream on Leaf Fans"!!! |

That's the point is to make them pay top dollar for screwing us over with Corrado. Payback is a female dog |

Toronto attracts 2 type of players.
Lazy ones that love long summer vacations
or
Greedy Bastards that don't mind losing as long as they get top dollar

You're joking right? He ranted for the full 4 minutes it took to review it that it shouldn't count. At the end he 'may' have questioned it for good measure for tv but dude...he was all over that goal not counting from the first second. They didn't show the one ice level angle during the review process UNTIL Miller was being interviewed after the game...convenient right?
Hey it's all good. We are used to the refs and the whole Leafs love ins in the feature games on HNIC every Saturday. Even though we didn't play well enough to win it would be nice to see some consistency with the reffing and I'm not just talking last night I'm talking all over the league.
