How'd the kids do tonight?
You want to see youth play then get set to experience the inconsistency.
Blaming the goalie is the easy, lazy thing to do. - golfingsince
Check your facts dude. I've actually been a Miller advocate since last season cause I know what we get with him. I'm just saying he needs a rest and maybe a longer one than people want to admit. His last five games have been well...not stellar. And yes you are right when your starting goalie has let in two peaches per game over the last five games it is easy to blame him. I'm not saying you have to like it just telling you how it is. |

It doesn't matter how many skates it went off, it went into the net from a distinct kicking motion, end of story. No excuses, they just played terrible tonight and the past few games. - LeftCoaster
I think the call was made by the book. Good call.
The most pathetic no goal I've seen called was when Naslund thought the play was about to go the other way when he was in front of the opposing GT and he turned around to skate back and the opposing D winged the puck off of Nalunds heel and in. He was facing our end of the ice skating away... never saw the puck comming or the player even release the puck... the foot movement was forward not back.... clearly not a kick... clearly a deflection... no goal. This was the war room making this call in a season when we were winding down to the last couple of games and 1 or 2 points out. We missed the playoffs.
Like I was saying in above post...

After 18 pages of Leaf crying I'd had enough. Also quite surprised that Surrey oiler got away with what he did, I guess there were no mods around today. |

Miller was excellent tonight, despite the 4 games prior. Tonight's loss has nothing to do with him. It wasn't a poor decision to start him, it was poopty play in front of him. Again, you're blaming the wrong guy for the loss. |

You're pretty sure of that. How many games has Markstrom won at the NHL level? - golfingsince
At 36 years of age how many games do you think Miller is going to win from here on out? |

Check out Amon Amarth's Twilight of the Thunder Gods.
The title song used to be the intro song for the Canucks Lunch before that touchy feely insecure Sekeras took over. Someone there liked death metal... I know Murph with Sportsnet is a big Amon Amarth fan. Hard to picture him into the *heaviest* of metal but its true. Amon is cleaner than most of the music in that genre though.

Sorry can't get there. I am actually blaming Miller AND WD for starting him but it's a moot point now. We may well have lost with markstrom with that effort but combined with the refs it would have been interesting to see where the game would have ended up with Markstrom in. Two more peaches from Miller tonight. But we know what we get. |

5-3 goal?
2-0 goal?
Goal where he already made 4 saves?
Jesus christ man, when do you hold the rest of the team accountable? |

It's one thing to blame a goalie when he's bad.... It's brutal however to blame him when the team in front of him is horrible and he plays well. It easily could have been 7 or 8 goals against tonight.

Miller was good tonight, if a person can't see that or the fact the Canucks defensive zone coverage was awful....they should probably watch the game again and get it broken down for them. |

Our defence really misses Sbisa and Benning needs to make some changes back there. Hamhuis is strangely terrible and I can't believe how blatantly Edler is handing the puck over to the other team.
It's like the veterans heads aren't in the game? But....this is what the fans wanted, a youthful injection, Benning and Linden gave the kids a shot and they earned a spot.
Team misses Prust and Sbisa, they were harder to play against a few weeks ago. |
