I like this analysis... not sure if it's been brought up before or not... discusses how JB has made the right moves according to what players have done after leaving the Canucks...

One of the things that has been most distressing about the Canucks' third-period collapses this season is the feverish memories it brings back for me of the Torts era in Vancouver, when the Canucks went 21-5-2 when leading after two periods. Remember when the Canucks took a 3-0 lead into the third against the New York Islanders and ended up losing 7-4?

Canucks better break those trends or the memories will become regular nightmares..

The wife told me I look like my father now. I told her " He's been dead for two years, how bad do I look?".

Clearly she has a different appreciation for the zombie TV shows than the rest of us...

She's Filipino, they are attracted to older men, but in this case she likes them even older.

Mike Richards skating with OHL team, I am surprised no one has picked him up for league minimum

I am here, with lots of tidbits in today's blog.

Yes, Miller's equipment.

Also - Virtanen & Sutter are questionable for tonight. And we'll see the Hamburglar against the Canucks for the first time:

Why? would you want him around your young players?
I'd take Vey over Richards.

The guy is facing potentially drug charges... why take the risk...

the guy was pretty useless in LA... no motivation(?) or worse.. drug related career decline.

stage 2 coming up?

I think he's already gone through Stage 2 if I remember correctly, I've read an article that states that players that go to Stage 2 generally never get better and never play hockey again (Stage 2 is where a team indefinitely suspends the player and only a doctor can reinstate them).

The problem is that after Stage 1 (which is generally where you're given counselling and Scared Straight lectures), if that doesn't work, the problems are deeper than can be fixed by counselling and being hockey players and as competitive as they are makes it less likely that they'll be willing to work on their issues with substance abuse because they'll want to play hockey instead.

I think the article stated that only about 10% of players that have gone through Stage 2 have gone on to have productive careers and lives (Theo Fleury being one)
