Depends on what was said and I havent heard anything yet. Saying we should have killed all Inuits and poop like that...yes... making fun of him eating seals is no different than all the frog talk the french have to put up with. Even in this thread people are going on about swedish meatballs after Edler fkd up.... it's pretty normal in team sports.... there should be a bar set... but it's set at the bottom if you are white...

Anything like Chug, the n word etc should be suspendable... there is no arguing about that being a line in the sand thats for sure.

Tootoo has probably heard a lot worse. Good on him for going after Burrows if something like that was said. For centuries the white man has the mentality that they are the superior race and can say or do whatever they want without consequence.

The only good thing WD has done so far was play Virtanen with Sutter and Burrows. Other than that. He looks like a lost puppy when the going gets tough.

Bachman was signed to play in the AHL, but he for sure should have played yesterday. That was a stupid decision.

I've played hockey and worse things than that have been said to me, that's when I'm on the ice with them and in the corner, the butt end of my stick comes into play while the ref isn't looking into the ribs... repeatedly. This is sports, the whole idea of trash talking is to get someone off their game and looking for revenge. Tootoo still is one of the dirtiest players in the NHL, has had numerous suspensions for hits that were by today's standards even worse. If Burrows said what Tootoo says he did, Burrows is scum, but much worse is said on the ice that nobody ever knows about, guaranteed.

Not sure why they want to push Miller so much? He will get tired, a little worn down increasing the chance for injury, that sounds worse than starting your backup at some point....

I think there are many arguments here and you touch on a few of the strongest ones:

1. The NHL is a bubble. This means that things done during the game (Spears, crotch shots and verbal abuse) have been accepted parts of the game for decades. Anything that takes place within that bubble, is accepted only unto itself.

2. We do not have expectations that players we want to play their best, are not expected to be angels.... not perfect... just given some leeway.

2A. But that seems to approve and admit that Burrows did indeed say anything... nothing has been proven.

3. Every been on a scrimmage line of a pro game? The things said and done in a scrimmage pile up would make Tootoo run away.

4. Tootoo broke the code. Either he is telling the truth and has put an enormous target on his back --- want to get him off his game... easy to do now. But if he is lying, he needs help. If he misheard, then he is a total ass for going public.
