I saw two goals last night reversed. The NHL is a (frank)ing joke. Way to increase scoring by taking away goals on ridiculous challenges.

He does need to be more aware. That was pretty blatant. Gallagher did the same thing last night. I just hate that they can review this and zoom in with a microscope and see contact. Totally takes away from the game.
They are meeting next week to discuss this stupid challenge thing, I hope they get rid of it. The worst is the offside one that they took away from the oilers the other night. They went back 2 minutes to see that it was a fraction offside. Just ridiculous. |

Why dont they just go back to the foot in the crease rule because this is what it's turning into... they are not even trying to consider if the goal was helped by the contact... now if there is even sweater to sweater contact away from the puck that the goalie wouldnt have saved anyways becomes no goal. It's already being abused to manipulate outcomes. Every year there are new rules introduced that achieve this for the league... or a new crack down... or more ref discretion on things we'll never get an explanation too... this league is the closest to scripted WWF type sport entertainment as it gets. |

If there was coaching challenges in 2011 the Bruins would have had have zero goals in the playoffs |

If they had coaches challenges back in the day Ryan Smyth & Tomas Holmstrom would have like 10 career goals.

This is an interesting point... very interesting.
We should go back and look at how many eliminations and cups have been won and lost on goals where there was a tiniest bit of contact. Since there has been no rule change on contact then I bet we find an alarming amount of series clinching goals that were in fact bad goals and awarded by the league anyways.
And I'm not even talking about the foot in the crease goal that won the cup for Dallas. They went against their own rule there and with the entire world clearly seeing it and the league refusing to review a goal after reviewing more than half the goals in an entire season.... don't fool yourselves... the constant bombardment of new rules and crack downs have a corrupt purpose.

The power play is disgraceful.
With the exception of the 20 secs that the 2nd unit gets. |

Imagine if we still had Bieksa. There would be no second PP unit... they always looked like they were killing a penalty in the own end... Edler not much better on the PP... but he can make a good pass occasionally.

They honestly don't fking need it. Just make the proper plays reviewable and get the fking calls right...my god it ain't rocket science. But this way Gary and his merry band of idiots can manipulate outcomes more... |
