Roussel is a little creep who I'd love to see get his ass handed to him.

Coburn isn't 37
- Mordecai

Coburn also wasn't the main point guy on a power play that, until the past 4 weeks or so, was considered one of the best in hockey.

He's 37 but how is he declining? Vinny is declining but Streit has been playing the same role his entire career. If I'm a GM of a Cup contender, I'd be willing to pay a heavy price for a guy like Streit.

I guess if Mark Streit is the piece that puts a team over the edge then yeah sure spend the 1st.

Based on what Streit has done for the balk of his career, last season and the start of this season, he should be worst more than Coburn.

Yeah, it is.

They are in a rut now, but they'll get marginally better. They won't have a record much different from last year, if not a bit worse (especially if they can't get it together on the PP).

They'll likely be this way until about the trade deadline, when one or more players might go (that is, if Hextall stays true to his word and doesn't trade a couple of these guys to the Tallahassee Warhawks by Thanksgiving). Some kids might get called up. That will be cool.

It's not like Streit has SO MUCH more mileage on him than Coburn, either. They both have played a comparable number of games in their careers despite Streit's age. Streit started later and plays a different sort of game than Coburn.

This team is horrible. No cohesion, can't finish two passes in a row, coverage sucks, etc etc. they need to break up giroux and voracek. They seem to be trying to get each other going and not making smart moves. Giroux constantly tries to get voracek the puck through 2-3 defenders and gives it away. And I don't know why all the VL hate, he's not worse than anyone else....

Age doesn't matter if your still at the top of your game.

The kids will come up and they'll win 8 out of the last 10 to finish with 85 pts and draft 12th

Why? He's a responsible 200 ft forward with more offensive upside than Couts (and much more than Laughton). Then you can trade Laughton for an upgrade at LW.

I actually think Vinny has played well considering what the rest of the team has looked like. I am not even joking.

I get that I just have trouble seeing where Streit is the missing piece for a contender.

naturally they give up the empty netter because voracek misses the net.
