"The Flames are still five games under .500 but they're starting to remotely resemble a playoff caliber team"
Surely, this was a sarcastic sentence... I mean, I'm really, really hoping that's the case here. If not, yikes. Just how low has the bar fallen for the Calgary Flames? - Woodysdemise
About the same as the Kings not making the playoffs last year... |

We would like a 2nd or 3rd but he probably wouldn't get back more than a 4th and a mid tier prospect. |

This year absolutely. Last year he might have been one of the best bargains for D men around. He might get it back together, but it's been a brutal start. Would hate to have to sell low on him, but we will see. |

Roy is already out of favour? - DouglasFir
his refusal to play this young talent is frustrating. Team isnt goign to get better if you scratch your only positive CF Dman in Gormley, sit Zadorov as a 20 year old bc you thought he had a bad game and put in Stuart instead and sheltering Grigorenko on the 4th line playing 5-8mins a night even though he has some impressive games in limit time.
Time to get the training wheels off, play the youth already and stop sending out Cody McLeod as the 6th attacker |

He'll come around. I wouldn't trade him unless it was in a deal we couldn't refuse. |

Yeah it's not like what Roy is doing now is working so why not play the young guys.
Anyway maybe the Flames will turn your fortunes around. |

I'm amazed at how quickly people forget how good Russell and Widedog were for us after Gio went down. |

yeah its bonkers, and hes favorite move is to shorten the bench when they are down as well. So take some of your decent 3rd liners like Comeau and Soderberg and bench them to play 2 lines sending out McLeod and Skille instead since you like their "jam"

What about getting Anderson from the Ducks if they are indeed going to move him? I doubt the would trade him in the division though. Any other goalie targets out there? I'd be willing to give anyone a shot at this point. Maybe Mrazek out of Detroit? Lack from Carolina? - The-O-G
Andersen and Lack aren't better than what they already have and Mrazek isn't getting traded. |

I hear ya, you think he may dramatically turn it around this year? I'd almost rather have kulak or nakladal in, Russell maybe to take a seat on the pine for a few, might fire him up. Look what it did for Johnny hockey last year |

You drunk? I didn't realize Gaudreau was put on the pine...
I'm guessing you're thinking Widedog. |

Game 6 or 7 last year against Columbus Gaudreau was a healthy scratch and watched from the press box as Josh Jooris took his spot and score a goal, in his NHL debut.
Gaudreau came back the next game, which I think was against Winnipeg and had a goal and added 1 or 2 assists. From there he just took off, and never looked back. He said he got a good perspective from watching the game from there and used it constructively to improve his game
Wideman was also scratched for a game early last season and came back better and more focused. |
