I had it last week. I'm not kidding

Again I repeat...........NOONE I know has the flu in 60 degree weather. Its not that its not possible, its just not likely that a pro athlete with IV drips to hydrate and pump medicine directly into the body has the flu now. Sorry, not buyin it

Is your argument really that nobody outside of your own personal circle has the flu, therefore it isn't going around?
- eichiefs9

No but since you like to dissect and argue for the sake of arguing.......im saying for the 4th time, that a pro athlete who gets the flu shot, and is given medicine, vitamins and whatever else intravenously is not going to be sick with the flu in this weather for a week. Its highly unlikely........i just dont buy it. You can if you chose, because the new policy states that every team has to decipher and report exactly whats wrong with their player.....blah blah blah blah. Im not buying it. Sorry

Nassau county residents. Don't forget to vote Madeline Singas for district attorney! Kate Murray was a key driving force behind denying the lighthouse project that ultimately led the islanders to move to BK. It won't kill us to spend a few minutes voting.

Yes we all have read your ridiculous stance on this all four times you posted it. What you seemingly fail to be able to wrap your brain around is that the weather has nothing to do with it. Sure, in cold weather increases the risk of getting sick but that doesn't mean that unless it's 30 degrees out, you're immune to the flu. Did you know you can get sunburned in the winter? Crazy, I know.

An IV is for keeping someone hydrated, so their body can fight the virus. It is not a cure to the flu. Nor are vitamins. Taking them may help, but it sure doesn't make it magically disappear in a day.

Doesn't matter.

Africa will be happy to know that I don't know anyone with malaria or Dengue Fever, so it must have been cured.

Ok. I don't even want to get involved with this but you leave me no choice . This whole "IV drip" thing is puzzling to me? When you have the flu you have it. There's no medicine or anything or IV drip that's going to make it go away. An IV drip (which anyone and everyone has access to BTW I can stick one in my arm right now if I want to) will hydrate someone because saline is all that any doc will pump into you unless you have a serious infection that warrants IV antibiotics. It'll help but it's not going to make the flu go away. It helps to hydrate when you have the flu but cure? Nope you'll still have it for a bit.

People are coming into my ER with the flu every day it's actually going around. I've got friends that got it/had it and I had a bout with it last week. I was out of work from wed till mon. Special team doctors and IV drips and medicine will not cure the flu nor will they prevent it. Flu shots that EVERYONE has access to are a shot in the dark only if the CDC can match the strain which is likened to winning lotto. I agree the Islanders are ridiculously dumb with their clandestine "injury" updates but I think you may be getting a little nuts over nothing here. The guy is out and it certainly sounds like he's sick. The guy he rooms with was just sick along with our goaltender. Every year of every season the flu goes through some teams. It literally happens every season it's not a stretch to think he has some kind of ailment.

If he is actually injured whatever. What's the difference him not playing is the real issue hope he gets back asap.

You are ridiculous...........im done with this absurd discussion. You're right........IV doesnt help at all Doctor. I didnt realize you were able to post so many times throughout the day in the doctors office. You're good.

Why? Kate Murray has such great legal experience. I think it's hysterical that this fat slob is running for DA with zero law back ground . They'll actually be some morons in Nassau that vote for the fat pig.

Im not going nuts.......im killing time, but the problem with this site is this :

People on here are either not working or just have so much time on their hands and love to argue for the sake of arguing. Its like a bad game of telephone. My initial comment was about teams using the default term "out with the flu", and how I dont buy it. Somehow that turns into a discussion about rules and this vs that. Its ridiculous. I will repeat..........im not buying that JT has the flu.

Side note : your ER is not the same as the treatment that a 6 million a year franchise player is getting, yet his going to miss his third game, and there hasnt really been anything said other than "he's ill". Im sorry, but i dont buy it.

Yes, I'm the ridiculous one.

If you want people to ever take you seriously you may want to actually do a bit of thinking or research before you present something as a fact. Or maybe just don't act like a petulant diaperbaby when someone proves you wrong.

Yeah you're right it's better. I work in a trauma 1 hospital which is widely considered the best in NY state. If you believe John Tavares is somehow getting magical treatments from some world class physician that other people don't have access to there's really no point in continuing this conversation.

You can barely string together a coherent sentence or thought, yet you expect people to take you little pea-brained thoughts seriously. Your only retort to a mountain of evidence proving that you're actually a moron is that "you're not buying it". That's literally all you can answer with. Everything else is completely and wholly factually incorrect.

You'll notice that I'm only antagonizing you, because the rest of the people on here (many of which I disagree with nearly everything that they say) are adult enough to engage in a normal human conversation and concede that sometimes other people's point of views hold some water. Whereas you, the simple-minded, immature baby...just want to say what you want, without any merit whatsoever.

Sarcasm duly noted..........but your ER is not the same as seeing the best of the best. When i went in for back surgery, i could have gone anywhere, and im sure a lot of doctors would have sufficed.........but i wanted to go to the best. A professional athlete, A.K.A the Islanders FRANCHISE player, is getting better treatment than you or I....thats a fact.

Also, if he's so sick then why is he out on the ice and in the lockeroom where "said illness" can spread. It doesnt make sense..........I think he tweeked something, and they didnt want it out in the open. Otherwise, why not say the minute he wasnt playing what the problem was. Why be so secretive?

I'm confused, and don't mind me jumping in but you posted something that stated a difference, so others stated another difference, so why continue the banter of back-n-forth if its all about a difference of opinion. U seem a bit sensitive of this topic of convo..... just saying.....
