Would anyone do Simmonds for Taylor hall. I think it would add skill and give the top line a boost. Also allows raffl to slot down a little.
- J35Bacher

I would. Edmonton wouldn't.

We'd have to add a top D prospect to get Edmonton's interest and include a cap dump to make it work.

Something like Simmonds + Sanheim + LSchenn for Hall.

I'd be fine with that. I'd also be fine at giving Leier a look. He's been playing very well and he brings some more speed to the lineup.
- BiggE

I don't think they can bring up any of the young forwards or defensemen without putting someone on LTIR or making a trade to create cap room.

He's got a really strong base... you don't see Coots stumbling or falling too much. He's got to leverage that somehow to create offense, find a way to bring the puck off the wall/from behind the net to scoring areas with more authority.

He has moments, but mostly he's too timid in the o-zone. I think that's more his problem than any perceived physical limitations.

Just bought a house so I didnt get to see much of the game. I would like to try out reader as 1LW.

Couple things I saw mentioned but dont feel like quoting:
- Defense: just because we dont give up a lot of goals (sans FLA) doesnt mean its not an issue. this team is constantly compensating for lack of back end talent

- Laughton: I have mentioned before I want to try him on the wing. He will improve as he gets older on FO but he is just terrible right now. a big issue as far as im concerned with his lines advanced stats

- Vinny: thought he was going to bury that one with about 5 minutes left. wouldve been funny to see

Nah, they'd just counter w/ Benoit Pouliot for Jake Voracek.

Wow, didn't realize that about Konecny. He and his team were off to an abysmal start.

Edit: I think you have them backwards, and I don't think Provorov is 3rd. I think he's 5th. Sanheim is 1st.

1&3 according to this, but either way. Help is on the way... Looks like another lottery year so that realllly bodes well for the future albeit sucks now.

Being able to get a crack at guys like Matthews, Tkachuk, Chychrun makes the future look really bright.

When I look at the flyers I don't know what they are. It's like Anaheim. Not this year right now but you always thought big, fast and mean. Detroit is skilled and posses the puck. Rangers are defensive and have Henrik. Point is lots of teams have identities, but I don't know what the flyers are. It's like they have pieces of things but not enough of the pieces to have an identity. They are mutts right now.

They're a team that struggle to move the puck 5 on 5. Been like that since 12-13.

Well, Ghost will help with that next year. Maybe we can find another puck moving D man in FA after we trade Streit at the TDL

It's mainly an age thing isn't it?

Guys like Sid, G, Bergeron were all kinda iffy in the dot to start their careers. Then they learned the opponents, got a feel for when/how to cheat, and became all buddy buddy w/ the linesmen.

- Tomahawk

Not saying he needs to be permanently shifted. But it absolutely hurts a line's possession to lose almost every face off.

Flyers this year are #9 in NHL in shot attempts generated at evens and third worst at shots suppressed. They're putting up really weird numbers that are kind of an outlier for a team among the last few seasons. The increased SA For I get -- the aggressiveness at both blue lines, with pinching. But to be so simultaneously bad at SA Against baffles me...even though by watching I know they are in fact that bad. But the system promoting this swarming NZ play and quick outlets up the middle should theoretically be good at suppression. When the puck gets in their zone it's a nightmare with failed clears and lost battles. The blue line play is much improved (except for a couple guys), but once it gets in...yikes. Weird stuff.
