let me fix that for you.
- TheSabresTaco

That's part of the issue on the PK for sure. You need your goaltender to be your best player on the PK and he's not.

I'm not about to run the guy out of town like a lot on here. I just wish he could clean up his rebounds better. If he managed to do that, his numbers would be a hell of a lot better.

We're 8th in the league in PP at 23.7%. How much more do you want?

I'd say the PK is what really needs work. You can't spot a team at least 1 PP goal a game and expect to win.

for ROR to maintain his ppg pace, it needs to continue to be decent

You said they need to become decent, not continue to be decent. Big difference.

I expect that to trend up but right now, yikes.

he is a 20 game a year goalie, not a 40 game and no way in hell is he a goalie you ride for 7/10 game stretches

murray is not giving this team a chance with this scrub out there between the pipes

Be nice if they decided to give Ullmark 3 or 4 in a row

Neither is McElhinney, but Columbus had to ride him last year when Bob got hurt. It happens. Do I wish we had a better backup option? Absolutely, but we're not the only team in the league that something like this could/has happened to. Being that this is a building year, it doesn't make sense to give up more assets for a temporary solution.

they are 3-2 vs non playoff teams from last year
0-5 vs playoff teams from last year

after saying that, they competed with the bolts for 5 of the 6 periods
competed with the pens on the road

only game they looked lost, was the hab game in their own end

the eye test says this team is so much better than last year, goalie aside

He's 29 years old. You really think he's going to start cleaning up rebounds now? He's peaked. If you want to call it that. At this point, he is what he is, and that's garbage. He's an average backup at best. And should by no means ever be starting a game. There's so many other better backups out there, and I really wish we'd pay a cheap price to get one.

So, the arena is going to be renamed again? I think it will be the fourth name since it opened.

I think if he (or whoever else gets time in goal here currently) gets hot it could happen. But Ullmark didn't exactly have the best showing from what I could tell on Saturday. I missed that game as I was at a work function. But he gave up 4 on 28 shots, and that's not gonna make a coach want to stick with them either.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not down and out or anything. We might even get to see this level of hockey and win the draft lottery. #thirdtimeisacharm

beyond the eye test, which I totally agree, advanced statistics spell out a massive improvement. Imagine this team with a real goalie. We're at least 500.

that falls on murray for trading the farm for an injured goalie and leaving no capable goalie on the roster if worst case happened

greiss, lindback, neuvirth, etc

not to much to have asked them to sign 1 of those guys and reality is they could keep 3 goalies up if they had to

Not just the eye test... The team is worlds better in possession metrics as well. We're out possessing teams like Tampa and Pittsburgh (and even the Montreal game if I remember correctly)

we have 12 or 13 points if murray addressed the goalie situation with an open mind

So trading 1 first round pick is trading the farm now? Got it....

I honesty think neither Neuvirth nor Lindback wanted to resign here because of our tanking tactics
