I had a feeling about this one. If they don't bring the effort the whole game then they are among the lesser teams.

the Flyers are a lesser team

Play a great game beating the Rags, follow it up sleep walking against a shorthanded Sabres team, going through the motions in the first period and digging a 2-0 hole. Maddening.

Is that 4 or 5 games in a row where a player has left with an injury?

That was a really bad pinch by Medvedev in OT that led to their breakaway.

When does Hakstol admit his idea of playing Raffl on the top PP unit is a failure and put BSchenn back there? I really hope he's not the type of coach who can't tell when he's made a mistake.

Yea, he kind of forgot about the man behind him. I think he thought Schenn was going to get the puck. When is Hakstol going to change up the Streit/Schultz pairing?

Can't get outworked at home by a lesser team. That's disappointing.
- MJL

maybe buffalo isn't a lesser team.

much like the flyers fans look forward to playing the buffalo and Carolinas of the world. their fans feel the same why is my guess. they consider the flyers a lesser team.

luke schenn logging heavy minutes last night. that was good to see.

If play is based in merit then Schultz needs to sit. I would go streit schenn, gudas mdz, Manning Medvedev. I don't care how minutes are given out. He isn't real good right now.

If play is based on merit Manning would be in the AHL.

If it was based on merit from last night's game, Schenn would not play next game.

He's pretty much been a journeyman his entire career. Playing him on a first pairing is insanity. But he's all they have right now.

well he really hasn't been a journeyman....though he does not in any way, shape, or form belong on a top pairing.

he is playing a role he shouldn't be. simple as that.

And I know I will get ripped for this but last night's first goal is what frustrates me with Mason. I know goalies will give up so ones. But he just seems to do it at the worst time. I know what he's done for the flyers. Just very frustrating and the reason I think he is OK but not elite.

I think Mason for the most part has done a good job limiting soft goals. I'm not sure if he's elite, I think surrounded with a solid cast, he's plenty good enough to win.

I didn't realize how fragile this team was until Bellemare went down. They started off flat but when Bellemare got hurt, what a slow painful death the rest of the game was.
- SuperSchennBros

Bellemare is out working the other team when he's on the ice. Never a question of that

I guess if Couturier isn't ready Thursday night Lecavalier is going to dress.

He is the goalie we need and have longed for however he does seem to have trouble with breakaways

He's been really good. I'm a little more concerned with his durability than anything else.

out played by a lesser team (although i think the sabers future is bright) and a back up goalie to boot....lack of effort and stretches of real bad play....and to top it off i had to listen to sabers announcers wow Rick Jenneret is horrible
- flyer186

HHOF or not, Jeanerette is terrible. Almost as much of a Homer as Edwards and his voice in general is just painful. It's like a turkey with a mouth full of marbles imitating a dying cat.

4-2-2 through 8 games, that is a 100 point pace for the season

Thats the third time I saw that you posted this, and I still disagree..

Bellemare isnt the glue that holds this "fragile" team together. He plays hard, he certainly is a boost to the PK, but losing him didnt crush the team. They just played like poop from start to finish. Team defense was horrid. Despite their points, both Schenns played pretty brutal games. Gudas played the rover position tonight, but instead of jumping up to play offense he was just looking to kill someone. Unsuccessfully I may add. Whole game was ugly and frustrating. Glad we got at least a point. If it werent for an unreal save by Johnson in OT we eek out a win.

There are things I like about Hakstol and there are things I really dislike. I'm seeing signs of Berube in him. With this said, I don't view Hakstol as the game changer Hitchcock or Laviolette from the moment they got here.

For as outworked as they were, they still could have won the hockey game.

I thought the Ennis goal was straight up luck. He could try that nonsense 100 times and it only goes in once.
