It sucks, but what can you do? Hope Vinny has a great game

I have little hope for him at this point.
- ob18

Its hard to have much hope for him. He's labored to keep up with play, he's never been a good defensive player, but he's much more of a liability now. The best we can hope for is (I think) for his pride and adrenaline to give him a boost in his first game back (didnt that happen last year after a stint in the pressbox?) before regressing back to the Wheels we all know and love.

Really all these posts and it's mostly about the Flyers choice of who is better for the 6th defenseman? A little bit of sprinkling of Vinny jokes, Couturier updates and 1 comment of Giroux having the best numbers.

Flyers are in great position, they have Montreal Canadien problems.

Really, that's it -- nobody wants him to fail and hurt the team. So you hope he plays well

Except we all know Vinny can't play LW and Hakstol doesn't seem to know this.
- SuperSchennBros

He can't play center or RW either. Team first, individuals second.

I think this is just an asinine response to an honest post. Chris Vandevelde plays LW. White can slip into the center role and the Coach can slip Vinny into the RW spot regardless of whether or not he'll be good there. Hakstol can also play 7 D. He isn't as it stands.

The coach obviously feels differently and wants Vandevelde at center, and wants to keep White at RW. The coach obviously feels that is what is best for the team, which is more important than what is best for Lecavalier at this point, simply because it's not going to matter what position he plays. Lecavalier is done.

I look forward to when the ban hammer drops. Get a break from having to sift through this poop.

Vandevelde hasn't taken a faceoff all season and hasn't played center since the early going as a Flyer last season. White takes faceoffs quit often. My opinion isn't just about Vinny as you seem extremely fixated on. My post is about what's best for the entire fourth line. Last time I saw Vandevelde play center, he wasn't a very good faceoff player.

White can still take faceoffs. I realize that's what you think is best for the 4th line. My post was about what the coach thinks is best for the 4th line, and I agree with him.

I don't think it's best for the fourth line but I don't make the decisions.

Geez, for a guy who prides himself on his incredible logic, sure needed to put the hammer down with a "Vinny is done", when the guy is playing tomorrow. It's not exactly comforting coming from the guy who claimed ALL SUMMER Andrew MacDonald would be the key to the D's success moving forward, something along these lines.

SuperSchennBros, honest question. Did you purchase a Lecavalier #40 jersey? Is this what this is all about?

Never stated that MacDonald would be the key to the D's success moving forward, nor something along those lines. That doesn't have anything to do with the Lecavalier situation. In my opinion, Lecavalier cannot play effectively any more, and it doesn't matter what position he plays.

I just looked at the boxscore for the game. I had no idea that basketball has a +/- stat.

Its recent, they've only been putting it in boxscores for a few years. It actually might be more useful for basketball than for hockey.

Its something they started talking about ans emphasising the the past few years, but i had no idea they actually tracked it in a common boxscore

You absolutely said something along these lines. More so the fact that MacDonald is valuable to the team's success moving forward. It has nothing to do with Vinny, it has everything to do with Vinny isn't done. He's likely to play.
