Probably the most obvious statement you guys will read today, but goaltending's been the difference. They don't get key saves...and sometimes even expected saves...when the games are close and they're skating well enough. Plus the goals in the first and last minutes of periods. Look what Schneider did for NJ last night...at any moment in the first period the Sabres could have opened up a bigger lead that would have knocked the fight out of NJ, but their goalie held them in until the rest of the team got it together.

I wouldn't be down on the team at all...they're worlds more competitive this year than last. They should definitely look into getting a goalie while the team's still showing fight.

Is he that good? He put up 107 yards passing and 14 points last time he played.

To be fair to Tyrod he didn't have Watkins, Mccoy, or Williams that game... Unless your ARod or Brady you're not putting up big numbers with what tyrod had to work with.

He has his moments. I was never a fan, but objectively he is very fast and should be easily penciled in for 20 on a decent team. Also objectively, murray doesnt like little guys that are holdovers from the previous regime. Not sure what his value is on the market, other teams fans turn up their noses when hes mentioned as trade bait- but that doesnt mean other gms dont recognize his talent. I kinda wanna give it the season, hes been the sabres best forward on just awful teams for several years now, might as well see what he can do with actual talent around him. Might be pleasantly surprised.

Them being on a competitive team is bad enough.

If Johnson isn't the long term answer in goal (which he isn't) I'd rather we play Ullmark and whoever else might be while Lehner is out. Whether that's Lieuwen or someone else we pick up we need a second option in net. I can't imagine TM is putting all his goalie eggs into the Lehner basket.

He is, he wants Lehner to be the man. Only other goalie chatter I heard was Emery before he signed with the Kings AHL team.

Not really surprising consideting all of the new faces and young talent that has yet to establish themselves. Still early in the season though, they just need to go on a bit of streak and theyre right back in it.
