I gotta say, I didn't really agree with blowing up the top three lines over two bad periods after four straight wins. Seemed like they were starting to find some chemistry with what they had been going with. They made it work just enough, though...or rather Greiss kept them in it until they figured it out.
Greiss...man, his style still terrifies me. I can't tell if he's good or lucky, but I won't make a single complaint if he continues to keep them in games...he must be doing something right! |

One of the things I noticed about him last night was that he seems to recover very quickly. By that I mean he could be flopping to make a difficult save, but then he's quickly back up again to make the 2nd or even the 3rd save when the Isles D is unable to clear the puck. |

Greiss has been arguably one of our most valuable players so far. Im happy we won a game to me we didnt deserve to win. Greiss stood tall when he needed too. Now for my rant...
How does Capuano insert Strait on his off side after weeks of saying thats why Pulock couldnt play? Im interested what Staples comments are on this after his sarcastic comments directed at Islander fans for their disdain for Strait being in the line up? Well of course hes in the line up a defensemen cant play on their off side you idiots! Now its ok as long as Strait can play? Breaking up one of our most effective lines to put Kulimen on the first line? Benching Strome for Bernier? Again, im happy they won but im shocked they did with these personnel decisions. To me the team looked lost most of the night and once again won in spite of moronic coaching decisions. Guy is a (frank)ing moron. |

Look at today's Newsday. Staple references the subject and calls Cappy's insertion of Strait "...more a spontaneous decision." whatever the hell that means... |

Staple never has an opinion or a critique about coaching or GM decisions. Wants to keep his job. Easy gig. |

Yeah, man...you could say Greiss' performance bailed Cappy out of some questionable decisions. I expected crazy stuff like that though when he threatened to make changes after the last game. I can't even get mad about it anymore. I also fully expect it to take about 50 games and a series of misfires (Nelson at center, Grabovski on the wing, Clutterbuck on the third line and Strome on the fourth) before they go back to the lines that were working perfectly fine except for two periods against Boston. Just have to hope the talent and drive outweigh the personnel and lineup decisions. |

Im just done with hoping for them to win in spite of this coach. His decisions are far more than questionable they're undeniably ridiculously stupid. He constantly contradicts himself like with Strait playing on his off side but you never hear anything about it like it never happened but Staple will be the first one to throw it back in the fans faces anytime they question anything. It's so obviously a fraternity with these guys with Staple covering the tracks when it falls apart. The talent on this team could do so much more with someone else behind the wheel and to me its maddening to watch. Drives me (frank)ing nuts. |

Why does cappy have to change every line all the time? If Strome really needs to sit or if someone s injured, just put the spare forward in for him. Stop blowing every other line up. At least last night he left C-C-M line alone. Stole those 2 points last night. Thank you Greiss. |

I think the Strome benching was early season message that he can't come out and play lazy. He played with no desire against Boston.
The expectation this year is he had to be 2nd best foward on this team if we are going to be a contender.
Zidlicky has 2 goals this season both for opposing team.
I don't mind an early season benching or two. Bc only thing that looked good in every game is the isles PK, cizikas line and Greiss when he has played. I want to see the team that played SJ every night. |

So you're suggesting putting an anchor like Bernier on Tavares' line? That would be an monumentally bad idea. |

He couldn't sit right for a week, and we didn't get to play catch in the front yard. |
