It's Philadelphia. If we won 7 Stanley Cups in a row, people would find something to complain about with the team. Some people aren't happy unless they can miserable.

would you even entertain trade offers for Giroux or is he totally untouchable
- rinaldo

Absolutely. Aside from Sidney Crosby, who in untouchable for PR reasons as much as his contributions to his team, no one in the NHL is truly untouchable.

He's no Tino Martinez, but Bernie Williams was a hell of a baseball player.

At the end of the season Giroux will be exactly where he has been for the past 5 seasons which is a PPG player.

You can't constantly keep trading players for younger players on the hope that one of them turns out to be better than what you are trading. If you can keep Giroux for a few more seasons and then move him for prospects or young players close to the Dmen getting here then sure but right now...I am not excited at the prospect of moving Giroux and Couturier or Laughton becoming the number 1 center on the team.

I think a hall for Simmonds trade would work. I think hall would be a great compliment to the top line. Simmonds could be a nice shotgun guy with McDavid and add some grit.

trade for Taylor hall or trade them and rebuild with the defense prospects .
- Winning

What are you seriously going to give up for Taylor Hall? Theyd want something along the lines of a 1st, Simmonds and Morin.

Both of them are playmakers more than goal scorers, in fact G and Voracek both have more than twice as many assists as goals in their careers. So why are we leaving out ES assists?
- Feanor

GREAT point brother. Because then we couldn't complain about their production...

What's the difference between and Englishman and a Scotsman?

An Englishman says, "Hey, you, get off of my cloud."
A Scotsman says, "Hey, McLeod, get off of my ewe."

Eh? Eh?

Is there a fancy stat that correlates assists to goals?
- Scoob

Scientists at CERN are working on it. They discovered the Higgs Boson particle, but that one is giving them real trouble.

As a side note, I think you post more anti analytics stuff here than people post analytics. Obsessed much?

I really, really wanted to be excited for this. But, based on the trailers I've seen, it's like Abrams just decided to take a loose Star Wars plot and make it a "modern day" generic sci fi flick. I don't think the 3 prequels were necessarily great movies, but they at least had the same feel as the originals. I'm not getting that vibe from the bits I've seen.
